The day was nowhere near over when they all started getting to work on putting the battle plan in motion. Locals of Georgetown were scrambling together to combine all their supplies together and checking over ever last little bit of equipment at hand. Vehicles used to block the roads to the north were removed and pushed to the side for local drivers to head off north to areas where gas stations were active and still full of useful fuel. To their shock only one gas station in their area was now lively. The other two are now dry as a bone.
Team Hampton on the other hand was lucky to have a few fully functioning gas stations. Their task was to drive along the shore lines and haul boats unto a special trailer and drive across the peninsula to the other side of the lake. With them they brought plenty of gas that was kept in containers. Any other possible fuel found was dropped off for the Georgetown Militia.
Both sides, Georgetown and Hampton were on their toes that very moment. Everyone was working as if the lives of Leah and Mila depended on it. Jackson's friends were the ones who were concerned most for their friend. If he was to find that the mission was to be fought in vein, then Jackson would be devastated as well as Conner and Owen.
Miles down south had a different story under way. Joel was given his prize and celebrated as though he'd just won the war. The moment he met up again with Leah, he placed his hand along her face and she hissed at him not to lay a finger on her. He looked over at Mila, a woman whom he'd never met before in his life, but instantly he fell for her as well and tried hitting on her the same way he did when meeting Leah.
Joel would joke around about them that none of them found humorous. Part of his kicks consisted of plotting false executions that would terrify them out of their minds. Members of Joel's army would stand around and chuckle with what he was doing. Lance came forward and his commander-in-chief would congratulate him and rewarded the fighter responsible for the delivery of both prizes. When he'd ask why Mila was brought over, Lance stated that she was a bonus that came with Leah. And Joel said nothing about it, just accepted her.
Mila stated that if she ever broke free she'd harm him. She'd cut his face off so it would make the scar on his eyebrow look like a paper cut. Joel did nothing but laugh and tell her that such a thing would never happen. Leah told Mila to keep quiet and asked the violent youth what he had in mind as for the fate of Georgetown. Joel told her that he didn't want the town anymore and that the only thing he wanted was both of their finest women.
Looking over the time on his watch, Snake spoke to his group as they stood over the nighttime beach of the far east side of the peninsula. Something new about him caught everyone's eyes, he wasn't wearing his face paint. He heart boated strongly as he overlooked every one. Standing next to him was Andy and Liger as they faced him with sheer willpower.
"This is it everyone. We're about to make history that'll never be on the History Channel. Our task is not going to be easy and it's not going to be hard, it's challenging. Days of training and fighting have brought us together as team. We're from different towns and communities but we treat each other like family. Now we must defend our members. I know some of us aren't ready for the task up ahead, but this is a time where we have to be as ready as we can be. I could stand here and deliver a longer motivational speech, but people need our help and are waiting on us to come to their aid. Don't cut the bad guys a break, Just send them to Hell. God help us." Snake finished his speech and all the fighters mounted upon their vehicles and began to make their way south as the time grew close to nine.
Driving in his father truck, Jackson crammed himself, Conner and Owen, two other people inside his truck and four other in the trunk all bundled up in warm clothing. The pickup truck followed along a convoy line that stretched for miles along a road that lead to a land of slaughter. Jackson was ready for what they were going to throw at Joel. He personally wanted to meet the man who'd kidnapped the love of his life and it was he alone who wanted to put an end to Joel once and for all. He was so furious with rage that even his friends could notice it.
"Jackson?" Conner asked, "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine." He nodded his head, "I just wanna save Mila and stop Joel."
"You look like you've just drank a ton of Monster energy drinks and mixed it with a few cups of coffee. Are you sure you can drive right now?"
"Yeah, yeah; I'm positive." Jackson took his face off the road to look over at Conner for a brief moment and his face was all pale. He looked down at his cold hands and saw them shaking with tremors. Conner was surprised the truck wasn't shaking with Jackson's hands and arms.
"If you want me to drive, I'll be more than happy to-"
"I'm fine!" Jackson exclaimed which woke up Owen and the two others in back: Riley and Dominic, both of whom where their age. Conner said nothing after that, just kept quite. "I'm just a little nervous that's all."
All the way in front leading the convoy was Snake and Andy with a few others inside a van that was being driven by Blaze. Sitting in the back were the commanders of the guerrillas and the leader of the militia and the substitute Elder of Georgetown. Right now the three of them were looking over a heavily scrutinized map of Washington City that Snake looked over to the point where his eyes grew dry as he applied his face paint. Liger held up a flashlight, patiently waiting for the head commander to say something, but he was only silent.
Snake reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a cigarette and lit up and puffed out a breath of smoke. Andy looked over at him and said he had no idea he smoked. Snake replied by saying the only time he ever did smoke was whenever he got too tense. Sorry if it bothers you, it calms me down. Andy told him it was a bad idea to use tobacco at a young age and Snake made a promise to him. Tell you what, if we win this battle, I'll give up smoking. Andy accepted the deal. The odor of the smoke made Blaze roll down her window and the breeze gave out a loud screeching sound that sounded like screams.
Snake and Andy looked back down at the map and focused yet again on the plan for a little while longer until Blaze looked over on the GPS and informed them of their location. They were less than an hour away. Andy got on the radio and informed the drivers to pull over in the upcoming town and rest for the night. The attack will commence at 6 in the morning.
