Looking at his watch, Caden saw the time was now eleven at night. He and the other Village Elders were being driven off to check up on the militia and guerrillas as they stood watch inside of the homes that over watched the fields. Hours ago, he was informed of what went on over by the south and north side of Georgetown and he was told to say hidden. And that's exactly what he did. Now he felt very concerned as he sat down and spoke to some of his loyal fighters.
Jackson spoke to Caden about the narrow escape he and his buddies made during the north side fight. Elliot on the other hand was still shaken by the experience of the battle. Connor in return apologized to the little guy if he felt that he was being too hard on him and explained why he acted in such a way. Owen on the other hand was still feeling uneasy about what he'd done during battle and so did Mila.
Both Jackson and Mila managed to gain permission to meet up and talk for awhile. Both of them hugged each other dearly and expressed their feelings, some with tears other with holding hands tightly. She felt guilty while he felt a clear conscience. Mila pressed the side of her face against Jackson's chest and wept thinking about Parker, Scarlett, and Isaac. They were all kept within the inner walls of Georgetown so she felt that maybe they would be safe. Yet, she couldn't help but think that maybe the inside of town might later become one huge mass grave for them all. Sooner or later they might find a way to break in and more of us will be lost.
"Jackson!" A voice called out on the radio that he recognized as that of Snake's. "Get your butt over here to the north side. Now!" Both of them rushed over towards where Jackson was stationed at without a second's thought. As they got closer and closer they started to see the landscape grow brighter. The sound of a loud roar like that of a tyrant beast could be heard in the distance that sounded more dreaded as they got closer.
What they beheld was a true monster of total destruction.
...Less than an three hours earlier...
A small trailer home was discovered by Philips and he saw it as an appropriate place to set up a small base camp. Lance had arrived with many more of his troops and they all managed to use the site. He gave them all permission to rest for now but to keep their wits. Inside the trailer home was Philips, Wiseman, and Xavier Hernandez. Lance entered inside with a few other of his lieutenants including: Brian Hoskins, Tyler Foster, Alex Wolter, and Riley Martinez.
Inside the place was a wreck from a year of having no inhabitants. For now they would have to settle in such a home. Sitting in the center was a foldable table where Philips and he men stood around looking down at a map. Lance asked the youngster what the plan was.
"You're not going to believe this..." Philips said with a smile on his face. "I managed to convince Joel this idea that might help us win the battle before tonight's over."
"What's your plan?" Lance questioned.
"We're going to burn them out."
"How? Do you have jets that drop napalm?"
"No." He shook his head. "I just got a shipment of gasoline on its way. I figured out that maybe we can set a brush fire along the field to the north." Everyone looked at him like he was crazy. Yet no one replied back to him.
"I doubt this will work." Lance shook his head. "You're going to waste all our gas on a crack pot idea that it might burn down the town?"
"Exactly." He nodded. Others began to ask him if he was serious and he answered by saying that his idea was to sneak along the same creek he used to get past all the blockage that he'd come across and pour the fossil fuels along the grass and then start a fire. Doing so will attract attention from the opposition and they'll come running to put it out. Then as the fire dies down on Philip's side, they move in closer with the fire set as a barrier and once they're close enough, they ambush the Georgetown Militia. If that didn't work then they'd watch the community burn like Rome.
