"General! Glad you could join us." Xuan Xiu exclaimed turning to face the man with respectful dip of his head. The General just hmmed in response as he swept his gaze over us. He had a piercing gaze that sent a shiver down my spine as I met his eyes as he looked me up and down once. My face felt warm as our gaze connected and I began to zone out but snapped back as the General introduced himself.
"I am General Ling Hua, I will be in charge of your training" He said flatly looking over once more before turning away to walk back down the hill. Xuan Xiu beckoned for us to follow and as the group began to walk I fell to the back my face still warm."Here you learn how to protect your people, strength, discipline, and respect," He emphasized respect.
"My apologies for this, but you will have to share tents with other troop members as there was a miscommunication. So you will share a tent with people from other cities and villages to build a sense of knowledge on those you will be training and fighting along side." Xuan Xiu explained to us with a guilty tone after a moment of silence passed
There were a few huffs and groans here and there but no one really complained much. We were told to get into groups of where we were from once we got to the ce ter of camp then put onto pairs with those from another group and assigned a tent, which is odd because usually we had go bring our own tents and whatnot. Though there was a problem everyone had a pair and tent assigned, except me. Xuan Xiu looked at me then back at the paper in his hands then at the rest of the troops and lastly the general.
"Ummmm...what's your name?" He asked with confusion looking over the paper again.
"Qu Qian." I replied nervously, feeling everyone's eyes bore into me.
Xuan Xiu let out a "hm" and began muttering to himself looking the paper for the millionth time.
"All of you go to your tents," the General commanded then turned to the person who had brought us here." Go recount the tents,"
Everyone scurried off which left me, the General, Xuan Xiu in the center of the camp. After a few minutes of very loud silence broken by the rustling of paper (damn dude haven't looked over that paper 10,000 times?)the man returned very out of breath.
"There are still 30 tents General Hua," the man reported as he regained his breath.
"Thank you Shen Qi," Ling Hua said with a sigh.
