My safe heaven

In the depths of darkness, colder than night,

Yearning for a glimpse of hope.

Alone, numb, in a damp and dreary space,

Dreams shattered, desires faded.

Heartbreak, heartache, all was black and blur,

In a world of shards, no vision, no soul to confer.

I yearned for a glimpse of spark, yet given up,

Then you found me, like every time, and I oblivious about.

You gave me so much more, with care.

Every action, every word you said healed my broken soul.

Searching for light, but you brought me to a paradise so bright,

In your warmth, I slowly mended, perhaps I yearned for more.

But fearing the burn, I left, stronger than before.

Admitting that you were my safe haven, simply my paradise.

Feigning strength, hiding pain, yet you persisted still,

So close, so dazzling, yet obscured, right and wrong clouded.

Hurt and healed, paced back and forth.

I was your moon, you my sun, so bright, so alluring.

But like the sun, too bright to touch, a harsh truth,

For if I reached too close, it's inevitable, I'd burn.

So I had to let you go...
