Eddie's POV:
Gaege and his parents don't have the best relationship ever. They constantly get into arguments no matter what. The worst part is that they just sit there and have cold looks on their faces all the time. Like they just don't care. It makes me pissed off. How they just sit there and look like they want to die. Gaege was invited to a family dinner with his mom and dad, which he had to go to. But he decided to bring me along for support as he mentally couldn't handle another conversation with them. I was scared shitless now, not knowing if they were going to be racist to me. It was a long ass drive, so we made sure we wasted as much time as possible without his parents getting mad. "I'm really not ready. What if they say racist things about me in front of my face?!" I say panicking. "If they do, I'm gonna say something. I really don't care. I'm not having my own family talk shit about my best friend who isn't American. It's like they think there's only one race in the world. They don't care about the other ones. It's fucking disgusting. Makes me feel physically sick to my stomach. I absolutely hate them." Gaege explains to me keeping his eyes on the road. We unfortunately get there after only an hour and walked into their house without knocking because he didn't care about respect for them anymore. "Hey mom." Gaege simply says, sitting immediately on the couch. I follow him and do the same thing. "Hello son, who is this fella that you brought with you?" His mom says nicely, but really, I know she doesn't actually mean it. She's just being two-faced about it all. "Oh, don't start being nice to all the people I bring in. You're just gonna do the same shit like always." Gaege argues already fed up with her. "I'm just asking, that's all. Can't I ask simple questions about my son's friends." She says, sounding angry at him. "Whatever." He mumbles, switching on the TV. "Where's dad anyway?" Gaege asks the miserable woman. "In the garage, as always." She whispers the last part as he stays sat down, not bothering to get up and see his dad. God, this isn't even a family. It's like they are complete enemies. They hate each other so much that they might start punching the hell out of each other. I felt Gaege wrap his arms around mine tightening his grip around me, feeling how angry he was already getting from just his mom. I opened my hand for him to hold which he gladly did as I rubbed his hand with my thumb trying my best to calm him down. A few minutes later, I hear his dad walk into the kitchen, and his dark eyes meet Gaege. I noticed this and stared back at him with hatred in my eyes. "Gaege." His dad says coldly. "Who the hell is that immigrant sitting on my couch!?" He yells. I'm sorry, what. Who the fuck has the right to call me that?! I could feel his body heat up next to me as he gets up from the couch and walks up to his dad slapping him on the cheek. It was such a hefty slap, I could hear it from in the living room. "What in God's name do you think it is actually possible for you to say that disgusting shit to my best friend!!" He shouts with anger, building up in his voice. He looked like he was going to kill him in a blink of an eye. His dad remains silent. "Are you seriously okay in the head or do I need to slap you even fucking harder next time!?" He yells louder straining his voice this time. "Never. Ever. Say that shit about him again! Got it." He threatens, grabbing onto his dad's shirt. He doesn't say anything again as he rips himself from his son's grasp and walks back into the garage, slamming the door shut. "I'm sorry -" Gaege interrupts his mom before she can tell him him off. "Don't you fucking say a word mom. I don't wanna hear your bullshit right now." He yells, making his mom turn silent and begins washing some dishes in the kitchen. Gaege's blood was boiling, so I tried to calm him down. I wrapped my arm around his shoulder, kissing him on the forehead, not caring that his mom was right next to us. He lays his head down on my shoulder and lets out an annoyed sigh. I could tell he needed me to calm him down. "Feeling better?" I ask him, completely blanking his mom's existence. "Kind of yeah, thank you, Eddie." He replies, digging his face into the side of my neck and placing a gentle kiss there. I loved the feeling of that. His mom was probably grossed out by us, but I couldn't give a fuck. As long as I'm with Gaege, that's all that matters to me. We ended up leaving early as Gaege wanted some peace and quiet away from his parents. This wasn't really a family visit we both said and I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to see his parents ever again after that whole experience we just had with them.
