Eddie's POV:
It's time. Gaege is getting out of prison. After two years of making enough money to bail him out, I finally did it. He's getting out. Innocent and no harm done to him. I had to pay at least three hundred thousand dollars just to bail him out for something he hasn't done. But I got there eventually after two years of hard fucking work. I can see him in person. I ran to my car and sped to the prison, not caring if I got a speeding ticket. Once I got there, I didn't expect the same bodyguard that was in front of the waiting room to be outside by one of the guard towers. That thought brushes past me as I focus on getting Gaege. I turned off the engine and hopped out my car, jogging towards the entrance. I was stopped suddenly by the security guard who was just at the guard tower when I last saw him. "Excuse me. I'm here to bail out Gaege Gibson." I explain to him. He doesn't say anything again as he grunts and gives the signal to follow him. We ended up walking into the main area of where the prisoners were being kept. It was scary seeing all the criminals not knowing what their intentions were and why they got into prison. Probably for something so horrible I wouldn't think a human was ever going to do it. You'd have to be a psychopath to do something so terrible to end up in prison. The hallway kept going for miles and miles. Prisoners were shouting things at me, but I couldn't make out what they were saying because so many were screaming at me. Hope it's not anything racist. After what felt like years of walking and screaming criminals, the guard stopped in front of Gaege's cell. There he was. Where he was being kept for nearly a whole life sentence. Or death parole. He doesn't look up at me but just sees the bodyguard standing there looking at him. He thinks he's in trouble. I don't say anything because I'm scared of what the guy might do to him. He rolls his eyes and speaks up for us. "Gaege. You have a friend who wants to bail you out." That makes him look up at me and break down into tears. Obviously happy ones. He looks terrible. He has major bags under his eyes, and he's covered in filth, and his hair is a mess. But his eyes. They aren't the bright ocean blue ones that I absolutely love. They're colorless. Gray even. Like his life and emotions have been sucked right out of them. I can tell how mentally drained he is. He needs rest. Proper food and some love. The guy grabs some keys out of his pocket and selects a specific key that unlocks his cell. As soon as the door is unlocked, Gaege pushes it open and runs into my arms. I hugged him back so tight to make sure he wouldn't have to go here ever again. He breaks down into tears as he face rests in between the crook of my neck. I can feel how skinny he has become. No one feeds prisoners with proper food. They don't care about them as people or humans. Just see them as heartless monsters. But Gaege isn't one. He's the sweetest and kindest person I have ever met. He doesn't deserve this treatment. He doesn't even deserve to step foot in this type of place. I start to stroke his hair with my hand to calm him down as much as I can. It works perfectly, and he calms down immensely. We both pulled away and stared into each other's eyes. I can't remember the last time I was with Gaege. It felt like forever. But he's here with me. He's going home. Safe and sound. The guard led us out of the prison, and once we stepped foot outside, it felt like freedom. Well, to Gaege. He's hasn't been outside in years. That sounds inhumane. But it's true. Once we made it to the car, he didn't even hesitate to get in and sit in the comfy seat. He missed this. I miss having small drives and road trips. I missed Gaege. So much. I got in shortly after and started the car. But before I could even reverse the car, I saw Gaege sound asleep basically passed out. He's been in an uncomfortable bed in prison. Anything else is like heaven for him. I grabbed a blanket from the back and wrapped it around him. My hand landed on his knee as I started to back the car up and headed home. Something I'd never thought Gaege would ever come back to. We finally got back to my house as I realised he was still sleeping peacefully in the passenger seat, so I decided to carry him back into the house. He looks so cute in my arms. I didn't realise I was staring at him for more than five minutes and unlocked the door before carefully placing him on the couch to sleep. I slowly took off mine and his shoes before sitting on the couch beside him. Gaege was moving around in his sleep, trying to get comfortable, but he couldn't. Almost like him having memories from prison. I noticed this and lifted him up and placed him beside me, his head resting on my chest. He instantly felt much better, and I saw a smile appear on his face. I'm so glad I got him out of prison, and he won't have anything bad happen to him. He'll need to get used to this lifestyle now that he's out.
