I woke up with a start to My wife having a horrible nightmare.

She was still in my arms but hyperventilating.
Squeezing her eyes and sweating profusely repeating over and over
"Please don't please don't hurt me. Let me go. Please. Help me ".

My heart was breaking at this sight and condition of hers.
She had nightmares often but they weren't as bad as this one.

I pulled her tightly against my chest rubbing her back.
"Shh Wake up Narmeen. Ur ok I'm here. I'm here. It's just a dream. Everything is ok"

I took her face in my hands and rubbed her cheeks to wake her up.

Her eyes opened tears streaming down her face as she breathed heavily.

"It's ok. I'm here . I've got you "
I said looking into her scared eyes and rubbing away her tears.

She buried herself against my chest reeling in her comfort.

I sat up taking her with me.

After a few minutes she pulled away and rested back on my shoulder.

I wrapped my arm around her and gave her water and kissed the top of her head.

"Shaheer" she said.
"Hmm love"
"I'm sorry for all of this. U must me so embarrassed of me. I'm so sorry u had to see all of this . I'll try to be better I promise."

I took her face in my hands and said
"U don't ever need to be sorry and say sorry.
U are so brave and strong. I'm not at all embarrassed of you darling. I'm so proud of you. Take your time. I'm here by your side always no matter what. Always & Forever Remember. I Love You Narmeen. Pls don't say anything like this ever again and break my heart "

Tears glistened in her eyes.
" I don't feel good " she said grabbing my arm and hugging it tightly.
"I know love"
I hugged her tightly as she cried a bit more silently.
I felt her pain.
I was hurting to see her hurt but after everything she had gone through it was normal for her to feel this way.

I rubbed her back soothing her and wiped her tears.

"Badhu theek thai jase. I promise (everything will be okay. I promise)" I said to her
Everything will be fine. I promise.

"Hmm" she said and got up and went to the bathroom to freshen up.

I knew she didn't believe me or that fact that it would get better .
Everything gets worse before getting better for good.
One day she would know .
