Life had taken a turn for the better. Y/N's presence had brought light and warmth into the home Jimin and Junwoo shared. The days were filled with laughter and love, and Jimin felt a sense of peace he hadn't experienced in years. However, as with any story of newfound happiness, shadows from the past were bound to emerge.

One evening, after another joyful family dinner, the tranquility was shattered by an unexpected visitor. Jimin was helping Junwoo with his homework when the doorbell rang.

"I'll get it," he said, giving Junwoo a reassuring smile. "Finish up this last problem, okay?"

Junwoo nodded, his focus returning to his math book. Jimin walked to the door, opening it to find a woman standing there. Her familiar face caused his heart to skip a beat.

"Lyla," he said, his voice tinged with shock and a hint of anger. "What are you doing here?"

Lyla, Junwoo's birth mother, stood with a nervous expression. She looked different, yet painfully familiar. "Jimin, I need to see Junwoo," she said, her voice trembling. "I want to be part of his life again."

Jimin's initial shock gave way to a surge of protective anger. "You left us, Lyla. You walked out on your son when he needed you the most. And now you just show up and expect everything to be fine?"

"I know I made mistakes," Lyla pleaded. "But I've changed. I want to make things right. Please, Jimin."

Jimin felt torn. The last thing he wanted was to disrupt the peace that had finally settled over their lives. He took a deep breath, trying to remain calm. "You can't just walk back into his life and expect him to accept you. He's been through a lot."

Lyla's eyes filled with tears. "I understand that. But please, let me try. Let me see him."

Jimin hesitated. His instinct was to protect Junwoo from any more emotional turmoil. But part of him wondered if giving Lyla a chance to explain herself might help Junwoo find closure. "You can see him, but on my terms," he finally said. "And you need to understand that he's been through a lot. He's finally starting to heal."

Lyla nodded, relief washing over her features. "Thank you, Jimin. I promise I won't let him down again."

When Jimin returned to the living room, Y/N looked at him with concern. "Who was that at the door?"

Jimin sighed, running a hand through his hair. "It was Lyla. She wants to see Junwoo."

Y/N's eyes widened in surprise. "Lyla? What does she want?"

"She says she's changed and wants to be a part of his life again," Jimin explained, feeling the weight of the situation bearing down on him. "I told her she could see him, but I'm not sure how Junwoo will react."

Y/N placed a comforting hand on his arm. "We'll get through this together, Jimin. We'll support Junwoo no matter what."

Jimin nodded, grateful for her unwavering support. "I know. Thank you, Y/N."

The next day, Lyla came over to see Junwoo. Jimin and Y/N sat with Junwoo, explaining the situation as gently as they could.

"Junwoo, your mom wants to see you," Jimin said, watching his son's reaction carefully.

Junwoo's eyes widened, a mixture of shock and confusion crossing his face. "Mom? Why does she want to see me now?"

"She says she's changed and wants to be a part of your life again," Y/N explained softly. "But it's up to you, Junwoo. You don't have to see her if you don't want to."

Junwoo sat in silence for a few moments, processing the information. "I want to see her," he finally said, his voice small but determined.

Jimin nodded, respecting his son's decision. "Okay, Junwoo. We'll be here with you."

The meeting was tense at first. Lyla sat across from Junwoo, tears in her eyes as she looked at the boy she had left behind.

"Junwoo, I'm so sorry," Lyla began, her voice trembling. "I made a terrible mistake leaving you. I was lost and confused, but I've realized how much I need you in my life."

Junwoo looked at her, his eyes searching her face for any sign of deceit. "Why did you leave us?"

Lyla's tears flowed freely now. "I was scared, Junwoo. I didn't know how to handle everything, and I thought leaving was the best option. But I was wrong. I want to make it right."

Junwoo's expression softened slightly. "I missed you," he said quietly. "But Dad, Y/N, and everyone else has been here for me."

Lyla nodded, understanding the depth of the bond that had formed in her absence. "I know, and I'm grateful for that. I just want a chance to get to know you again, if you'll let me."

Junwoo glanced at Jimin and Y/N, who both gave him encouraging smiles. "Okay," he said finally. "But you have to promise not to leave again."

"I promise," Lyla said, her voice firm. "I will never leave you again."
