Secret Marriage

you again?

Mayukh POV:

I met up with Ruyash and Manisha and then decided to head off to my accommodation before sunset. I reached and was welcomed by a guy, named Sid.

"Hey bro!" Sid said, "You're in this flat?"
I nodded and gave him a side hug.

"Are we the only ones here?" I said as I removed my sweater and shoes.
"No there's two more girls. They've gone out right now, you'll meet them soon!" Sid said. He showed me around the house and showed me the two free rooms. I took the room opposite a closed door, one of the girl's room I assume.

I freshened up and came outside to hear giggling. I guess those were the girls. Sid introduced me as one of the girls asked about me.

"Hey everyone! I'm Mayukh." I said and shook hands with one of the girl, who said her name is Esha. The other girl didn't move. I saw her putting the keys but she didn't move after that.

"Niki!!!!" Esha yelled and pulled the girl towards us.

Oh. Shit. No. Her?! My eyes widened as she brought Nikita into the room. She was here? How? I could see her body language become stiff as well, she didn't once look me in the eye and instead just waved a hello while looking to the curtain behind me. Then she ran away to her room while saying that she has a call to take.

"What happened to her?" Sid asked.
"Arre she mentioned she has work to finish and a call to attend. Don't worry she's fine."
"I hope so." I subconsciously said.

We all retired to our rooms and I took out my phone and called Mom and Dad. Then we all met up for dinner and decided to go out for dinner today.
Sid and I were ready within a few minutes and we waited for Esha.... and Nikita.

I don't know how I felt seeing her here. A part of me was annoyed of the whole past in front of my eyes but a huge part of me seemed relieved to see her comfortable and safe.

Esha walked out and knocked on Nikita's room. "Where are you madam?"

"Esha, you- guys carry on. I'm not feeling well." Nikita said from inside.

What? What happened to her? Why was her voice breaking? Her screams came in my mind once again.

"What happened to you?" Esha asked. Nikita opened the door and pulled Esha inside and closed it. Soon enough, after 10 minutes, Esha walked out and said that she's not well and that we should carry on.

Unwillingly, we did. Despite being with Sid and Esha, all I could think about was her. Was she okay? Why did she react that way? Is she fine? Did her aunt say anything again?

We got home after 4 hours and watched Nikita sitting in the hall watching TV. She seemed okay.

"Are you okay now Nik?" Sid asked, giving her a side hug.
"Yeah. I'm good." I heard her voice after a week, and I could still remember her voice clearly.

"We packed you food. Ye lo." Esha said, "It's with Mayukh. Please eat it otherwise you'll stay weak. I'll freshen up and come!"
She said and they both went to their rooms, leaving me and Nikita alone.

She stood there awkwardly. I could sense she felt the whole tension as much as I did. I then remembered Esha saying she's weak. She needs to eat. I went closer to her and held the food in front.

"Here." I said, looking at her.
She stiffened feeling my proximity and cleared her throat before slowly replying, "Thank you." She didn't look me in the eye. Why? Why can't you look at me Nikita. Her hands slowly brushed against mine while taking the food and I felt the same sensation I did a week back, when she held my hand tightly.

She took the food and sat down, made herself cozy and started watching the movie and soon enough, she was lost in her own world. We all joined her, watched the movie and then went to bed.
