It had been almost two weeks since that conversation. I saw her panic and I didn't like it. I had called Armaan and we had worked instantly on getting him rusticated from his job. Within a week, he was caught up in a scam and he was terminated from his job. He was now jobless and Nikita's family were reconsidering his marriage.

Nikita POV:

I had come back to India. To Kolkata, to meet Masi. It's almost been two years since she did what she did to me. I didn't have the courage to meet her before, but I have it now.

I was with Mom and Dad, who were at the hotel, and I was standing in front of the reception, waiting for them. I didn't think I'd be back in Kolkata this soon. I didn't even want to step foot here, but I wanted to meet her.

We reached the station where we asked to meet her and we were taken to her cell. She looked like a mess. No more jewelry she always adorned, she looked humbled in every way possible.
"Nikita?" She said and came closer.
I felt myself getting weak but I forced myself to talk, "Yes. The same Nikita you tried to sell."
"You have to understand, that was a necessity."
"It was a mistake. A sin."
"I gave you a caring husband, whether or not you agree."
Husband. Right. I'm not gonna tell her that she's wrong.
"Husband?! What husband?!" Aai suddenly spoke.
SHIT. I didn't tell them about Mayukh. Shit.
"Aai, we'll talk later."
"No you tell!"
"Aai please."
"Yes Tai, go ask her how she ran away with that Bengali businessman's son."
"SHUT UP BUA" I yelled, and looked at Aai, "please wait outside. I'm coming."
"Bua, You gave me a caring husband under what circumstances?!"
"Does it matter?"
"How dare you?" I screamed.
"Keep your voice down. Remember who you're talking to."
"She's my wife. You remember who you talking to."

A deep voice entered. I turned to see him. Mayukh? How is he always wherever I am? I'll ask him later. Right now, I know I needed him.

"So she didn't leave you. Gold digger." Bus scoffed.
"For your kind information, she's doing great on her own. She doesn't need my money." He held my hand.
"I.... I hate you Bua." I cried.
"Whatever."
"Let's go Nikita." He turned at the police, "Make sure this woman regrets every word she said today, and yes, I hope you give every wound on her body which she gave Nikita."

He took my hand and took me outside. Coming outside, I got even more of a surprise. Aai, Baba Ruyash Dada, Manisha Bhabhi and Mayukh's parents. I held my duppata in fear. I was in a skin tight pastel pink salwar with white patiala pants.

"What.... What are you all doing here?" I stuttered.
"Nikita, come home," his Mom said and then turned to Aai, "Yamini Ji, Amol Ji, Please come home, let's talk there."
Aai reluctantly agreed but I could see anger in her eyes. I felt scared and upset.

~~~
We were all seated at Mayukh's home. Bruno was in my arms. I tried to act normal but I was scared.
"What's going on, Nikita?" Aai asked sternly.
"Aai... I—"
"I'll tell you Aunty." Mayukh intervened.
I looked at Mayukh, as if saying no, but he looked at me, and said, "It's time."
I sighed as he spoke, "Aunty, Uncle, when the whole incident happened with Nikita, she had run away and had found me. It was a coincidence that I was in the same place. I was with my friends, not for her. I saw her struggling and her Bua had come and surrounded us and had brought the 60 year old man with the sindoor. She... she was ready to do the marriage there or she had her on gun point, ready to kill her, but.... I had no choice but to... to put sindoor, to.... take her as my wife."
Aai, Baba and Rahul were staring in shock.
"So, we got married. I brought her to the hotel I was staying at and I didn't do anything wrong, we didn't do anything. The next day, she went back to Indore. I didn't think we'd meet again, but we met in Dubai. We didn't take anything forward, we just hid everything until she then came here, and I coincidentally came here too. We've not been in touch for a year now."
