Nikita POV:

After that message it was impossible to stay normal. I was scared for me, I was scared for Aai Baba and I was scared for Mayukh. Thankfully they don't know his name; they can't do anything, but they know us.

"I... I'll just be back." I tried to say while Mayukh entered the elevator.
"What? Are you fine?" He asked.
"Yes, I.. I'll come." I said and ran to the flat.

I reached my room and called Aai.

"Hey beta! What's up?" Aai spoke.
"Aai, is everything okay? Are you and baba fine?"
"Yes beta, why?"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Is everything okay? Are you fine?"
They don't need to know about this; they'll get too worried, "I'm fine. I just was missing you."
"Awww beta, don't worry. You go have fun now."
"Yeah."
I hung up the call and sat staring at the ground.

How can she know? What will she do? What should I do?

I came outside to see Mayukh sitting on the couch. I cleared my throat and indicated that I'm ready to leave. He can't know about any of this.

"Are you fine?" He came closer and asked.
"Yeah. I am." I said, not looking in his eyes.
"Nikita." My name from his mouth gave me butterflies. I hadn't heard it since a week and even then I don't think he took my name. "Can you stop walking?"

I stopped walking and faced the door.
He came and turned me around and looked at me. I started backing towards the door.

"What's the matter half - wife?" He said and came closer. My eyes widened. None of us had mentioned that since we met.
"Wh...wha..t?" By now I was pinned to the wall, with his hands on my either side.
"I asked you, what's the problem? Why are you shaking and looking afraid?"
"N..no rea..reason."
"Did your aunt say anything?" He asked and my eyes widened more. How did he know?
"N...no" I said, looking down.
"Did she do anything?"
I shook my head.
"You can tell me if there's anything. Don't worry about that woman now, I'm here." He said and moved away. I composed myself and opened the door and we made our way out.

Mayukh POV:

It was currently 3pm when we were in the metro heading towards the mall. We're going to Dubai Mall. Sid and I were engaged in our conversations. We've gotten quite close in this day although I keep looking at Nikita. She seems very disturbed. What's in her head? There was clearly something that pushed her away to run home, what happened to her?

"Guys, which station?" Esha said.
"three more, we're almost here." I replied. I noticed Esha come closer to us.
"Guys there's some creepy people just staring at us." She said and we followed her eyes.
She was right; they were staring at Esha and Nikita. Nikita seemed lost in her own world, reading a book. I looked at Esha and nodded, as if telling her that I'll take care of it. I told Sid to hide Esha and I went near Nikita. I came closer to her and covered her from the back, and she noticed and gasped. I looked at her, came closer and whispered, "Keep reading."
She went back to her book and I stood there, and looked at Sid, who had covered Esha in a similar way. I noticed Esha and Sid look and me and smile. What happened to these two?

We reached the mall and roamed around. Nikita had been closed off since the whole day but loosened up a little. She walked with Sid and they both spoke freely. I don't know why but that felt very weird to watch. I walked with Esha and tried to distract myself and make conversation.

"So you and Nikita know each other from before?" I asked.
"Yes! We were in the same university. I had no idea she'd come to this university for masters."
"Oh wow! How was that?"
"It was a good experience. But university wasn't that great, especially for her."
"Why?" What happened to her?
"No she was just really betrayed by everyone she called friends and it was a bad time for her."
"Oh." I didn't know she went through all this.
"Is she fine now?"
"She's healing. She was glad we graduated so we don't have to see those people again, but I know she's not healed yet."
"Yeah, it'll take time."
"What about you?"
"What about me?" I was confused.
"Do you also know her from before?" What? Does she know?
"Ummm yeah I do."
"I thought so. The tension between you two is so evident. Were you guys together or something?"
"What? No. We-" We were together. We are together; we don't admit it but, we are? "-We know each other from school."
"Oh wow! That old friends!"
"Yeah we were in the same school."
"Was she the same in school?"
"She wasn't this quiet. She was way more talkative."
"Oh yeah that silence has come after being hurt by everyone."
"I hope we change that then."
"We surely will!" She said, "let's get back to them."

We caught up with them and I don't know what got into me that I put my arm around Nikita. She looked at me and was clearly shocked. She didn't expect this. I looked normally and continued walking.

We reached home at around 9pm and soon everyone crashed in their rooms.

"Goodnight guys! Good day today!! See you all tommorow!" Esha said and went to her room, followed by Sid, who gave us a hug and went to his room, both doors closed.
I saw Nikita hysterically check her phone for messages. Something is not right. Either she's in an issue or.... or she's texting someone and, yeah.

I needed answers. Once I switched off the lights and changed into my night wear, a simple track pant and t-shirt, I walked towards her room.
