Return
The doors were opened by line of guards, welcoming the man as they bowed before him. He fixed his coat and entered the huge house, scanning its entirety. As good as how I left it. Just how I remembered.
"Aidiel! Finally, you're back." Called by the voice of an old yet sophisticated woman. She came close to him and gave him a hug.
"Hi, mom. How have you been?" He questioned, kissing her cheeks and requiting the embrace.
"Don't ask me that, where have you been? After a few months? Really, Aidiel Helios?" She rolled her eyes.
"I'm sorry, okay? I needed all the information I could have. Where's dad? And most especially, where's my dearest Adhira?" He tried to search for the people he was asking about.
"Babie! I'm here!" Squeeled by a high-pitched voice as she looked over from the second floor.
"Oh, you're so, so back!" She was near running as she cheered. It made hearts drop watching her tackling the way downstairs.
"Adhira Melody, be careful!" He warned as he waited by the last step of the stairs.
He was almost out of breath as a tight embrace enveloped him. "Goodness, where do you get all these forces from such a tiny woman like you?"
He chuckled as soon as he felt a pang on his left arm. How he missed this brutal girl.
"Really? You're complaining?" She raised an eyebrow at him as she snaked her hand on his waist and looked at him sideways.
"Of course, not. Just asking." He defended himself.
"You should've used the elevator. What if you trip or slip, you know how clumsy you are." The guy added as he snaked his arm on her shoulders.
"Nye, nye, nye. Then it wouldn't be as dramatic? Also, I was holding on the railings and I know myself, okay? Trust me." She confidently stated, even pointing at herself.
"Whatever, just be more cautious next time, m'kay? So... uhm... how's the baby?" He asked.
"How about first ask how's the mommy? I hadn't seen you for the longest period!" She stomped her feet which made the man laugh.
"Okay, so, how are you?" He followed. He scanned her and saw that the bump was quite visible already. She looked glowing and healthy, making him smile. Not as if they would neglect this beautiful woman.
"I missed you, of course. If you hadn't known from dad that I was pregnant, you wouldn't come home. What if I don't ever show you the baby?" She teased in a serious tone.
"Hey! That's not fair!"
"What's the not fair is that you didn't show yourself for months, you don't answer my calls nor reply to my messages. Do you want to stay there? Hmm? I'll gladly give you to her." There came her raising of eyebrow again. He let out a chuckle as he was shaking his head in awe. Her attitude is such perculiar yet the most noticeable trait of hers.
"I missed you and that attitude of yours." He pulled her in a side hug as his eyes catched a familiar face.
"We need to talk." In a stern and serious voice, a middle aged man stated.
Aidiel followed him to his office and they sat across each other with only a center table being a barrier yet the invisible wall of tension pushed them on their chairs.
"Speak. What did you find out? I want to know everything. Every single details that we can use against her." He commanded as he leaned and crossed his legs.
