"How's Elli? What happened to her? What did the doctor say? Do we need to stay here? How long—"
"Lea, calm down, the kid is now okay. Just like I told you, she had an asthma attack. She'll stay here for a day for monitoring and that's it." Aga responded as he cut her off.
"T-that's good." Lea's stiffened shoulders finally relaxes as she let out a big sigh. She sat down on the cold-metal-bench as she cupped her face.
"It was my fault, wasn't it?" She asked as tears streamed down her eyes.
Perhaps it's true that no matter how much good someone is at suppressing their feelings, it would just naturally come out despite all the restrictions.
The image of Elli in her lap, looking all pale, sent darts of poisonous arrows in her heart. Lea couldn't bare thinking straight, she wasn't worrying about anything more but the little girl who was between life and death a few minutes prior her current situation.
"What happened?" Aga sat beside her, looking straight at the wall.
"I-I lost all of it. S-she accidentally poured juice all over my table a-and my notebook got wet. God! I physically hurt her. I-I gripped her t-too tight, I've hurt Elli." Lea straightforwardly muttered as she felt breathing through a straw.
"Lea?" Aga called when he noticed the same reaction Elli had. "Lea? Are you okay?" The woman shook her head as she looked at him, holding her neck.
"G-get so-some in-inhaler." Her eyes were watering, her face was turning blue. Her intake of air sounded so forceful that Aga felt it through his own throat.
He forestalled and sprinted to the nurse's station, asking for an inhaler. They gave him one and ran after him as he kneeled in front of Lea and puffed its containment in her mouth.
"Ma'am? Are you okay?" A woman in a scrub asked, trying to peak at Lea who was looking down on the floor.
"I-I'm fine. I'm fine." Lea answered, raising her head.
"Lea?" "Lei?" They muttered each other's name as soon as they saw the latters faces.
"Ate!" The woman ran to her, hugging Lea who was still in state of shock. "I missed you so much! You don't know how much I've always wanted to visit you!"
Lea requited the hug, one that she's been longing for years. "It's been almost 8 years, I'm proud of you, ate."
Lea couldn't help but shed tears. "No, no, no. Don't cry. You've just had an attack." Her younger sister muttered, wiping her cheeks.
"Look at you! You've grown so much! You're so pretty and-and you're just — not my baby sister anymore!" Lea's statement made the latter laugh.
"Of course I've grown, ate. I'm already taller than you. I told you eh!" Lea giggled, calming herself down.
"What brought you here?" Before Lea could answer, her sister's pager beeped. "I'll check a patient, ate. Let's catch up later."
"But what if they find out?"
"Who?" Her brows furrowed, seemingly clueless.
"You know," Lei grimaced a little, "they should not care, it's my life anyway. I'll go ahead, ate."
"Mhm," As Lea watched the woman who she last seen as a teenager, she couldn't help but carry a pride, knowing that she was a part of who she had become.
"And oh! Bring your boyfriend too, ate!" Lea's forehead wrinkled, thinking who Lei was pertaining to. Then she realized — "Ew!" She threw Aga a disgusted glare, caressing her shoulders.
