Jin combs his hair for the fifth time and moves uncomfortably in place, waiting for the traffic light to change to allow him to pass. As soon as it does, he runs down the street, along the sidewalk, dodging people until he finally reaches the housing development. He presents the authorization stating that he was invited and they have to let him pass.
He goes up to the tenth floor, walks to the second apartment and knocks on the door. He re-arranges his curls, glasses and jumps a little on his feet. Biting his lips with a bit of gloss; Jin arranges his sweater. As promised, Namjoon spoke to him in the evening and summons him here, at his apartment, on Friday afternoon, that is, four days later. When the door opens, he smiles unconsciously, shy, awkward, his voice slips out with a terrble off-key. "Good afternoon.
He blushes and Namjoon laughs, cocking his head in amusement. Jin is too funny by accident. Let it not show that he's thirteen. He lets it go. He takes off his shoes, drops his backpack on the front cabinet and walks past Namjoon, who directs him to the living room, where there are a couple of cups of tea already poured.
"I'm a bit of a maniac, if it wasn't on like I wanted it to be, I was going to be really screwed up" Namjoon admits and takes a seat on the couch. "Come, sit down."
He does, legs clenched and nerves shot. Namjoon slightly stretched out on the couch, looking him up and down. The curls he has are very tender. Abundant and well marked. They match very well with the kind of sweater he's wearing today.
"You don't have to be so nervous, Jin, we already know each other well enough for this moment." He jokes lightly and Jin moves his jaw, tense.
"I-it's...it's just that you're very important to me and I'm a little embarrassed.
"Important? Why?" asks Namjoon for the sheer pleasure of knowing how he invades this teenager's mind in such a way.
"It's just that you're the only one who takes me seriously," Jin explains, his voice frustrated. "Even when I haven't shown you anything I can do, you and-you've already seen that I'm capable, you already consider me someone worth listening to... Your poetry, your essays, everything you've written makes me feel less alone."
"Don't you have any friends?"
"They all prefer my brother. He got all the extroversion and charisma."
"Funny" Namjoon grabs him by the face, thus forcing Jin to look at him head on. "I'd say you have good charisma too...you're just too shy to expose it." Jin blushes a thousand colors, realizing all the details of Namjoon.
His hair, his eyes, his barely noticeable dimples, the asymmetrical shape of his face, the piercings. Jin lets out a heated breath and Namjoon smiles at him, squeezing his eyes shut. How cute. He's so small and so easy to embarrass.
No wonder Seokjin can diminish him so easily or has him as a hobby. Jin is one of those people who, because they are so cute, attract being teased. Pitiful, but that's how people his age are.
"So" Namjoon releases Jin and takes the cup of tea. Jin does the same, revealing how much he trembles. "What do you want in compensation? The news you gave me felt great. Lee Ho-Seok has been working with me since Wednesday. We hit it off right away." Jin nods excited to hear it.
"My brother didn't like him, he said he was ugly and didn't make a big deal, that he was too stuck up," Jin says. "My brother is stupid, so I don't expect him to know anything about what Hoseok-nim can do either."
"Call him Wonho, for safety's sake" Jin nods immediately. "Seokjin is good at something: he knows how to get others to do what he wants. He has that leadership ability, it shows" Jin is petrified Why is Namjoon speaking well of Seokjin? He shouldn't do that. "Also the decisiveness, his strength, his lack of fear... It's good trait in someone who is going to be the president of such a big and important company" Namjoon opines thoughtfully and analyzing Jin's reactions, as he looks like he is about to cry. In the teenager's mind, the simplest request does not stop:
