V. Don't call me that

The morning after the party I was woken up by the ringtone of my mobile.

-Make it stop!-Screamed Sofia from her bed.

Paula, my best friend, was calling. I instantly felt bad because I had forgotten to call her the previous day.

-Hey!-Sofia had thrown me a pillow. I swear she is a different person when she wants to sleep. I didn't want to disturb her sleep any longer, so I got out of the room before speaking to Paula.

-ADRIANA LOOK AT THE LINK I JUST SEND YOU! YOU'VE ENTERED THE TOP FIVE IN THE RANKING MADE ACCORDING TO THE BETS. Just below The Netherlands, Croatia, Switzerland and Italy! Aren't you excited?

-It's great but you know it doesn't mean anything right? There is still more than one month till Eurovision.

-And how is everything going?-She asked.

I told her about the night before and how I almost got killed by the Croatian representative, but I omitted the fact that he gave me his jacket.

-Wow, your rival wants to finish his opponents before the contest, very clever.-She said joking.

After the call I entered my room and picked up Marko's jacket. I still hadn't had the chance to return it.

I went to the fifth floor (I remembered that when I took the elevator with Marko and two members of the Croatian team they stopped on that floor) just to find the hallways completely empty. I felt very dumb at that moment. I didn't know which room Marko was staying in! I couldn't knock on every door until I found him, it would take me too long and I would bother a great amount of people.

-Do you need something?-I heard a familiar feminine voice with a strong accent from behind. When I turned back I saw a woman dressed in a black suit and I finally recognised her. She was in the elevator the first time I saw Marko.

-Could you give this to Baby Lasagna? I think he must've forgotten it at the party yesterday.

-Thanks, I will give it to him.

When I returned to my room I found Sofia waiting for me.

-And?-She asked.

-And what?

-Are you going to tell me voluntarily or should I force you to?

-What? Tell you about what?

-I've done some digging.

-What? I don't think I'm following you…

-Why did you absent yourself yesterday from the party that long? And why did you return with Baby's Lasagnas jacket on? And before you ask, yes I've been looking at the photos taken at the beginning of the night just to find out who was the owner of the jacket. So… What happened yesterday? And please, don't say “what” again.

-I almost got killed by a sandwich.

-Now I'm the one who's saying “what?”.

I told her the story of the sandwich. I had the feeling that she wanted to ship us, as she did with everyone. I swear that whenever she saw me or David talking to a boy, she imagined a love story out of nowhere. If I'm honest it always was a bit
uncomfortable.

London 7th of April

A week had passed since the first pre-party and it seemed like that had been ages ago.

Nemo and I were becoming incredibly close. We were both a ball of infinite energy and were very talkative. We even created our own game: we used to go outside at night and ask strangers (who clearly didn't have any idea of who we were) and sing a capella our songs just to find out which they thought was better. Sometimes we even swapped songs! It was very funny!
