Jack's POV
"I don't know, Sandy." I grumble. "I guess I was just putting too much hope in it."
The blonde smiles and pats me on my back.
Today is Valentine's Day, where couples make their affections known, even more so. It's been a busy day, but that didn't stop me from noticing a certain customer missing from the crowded scene.
Shaking my head, I lean over the counter to rest my head.
"I'm such a chump. To think that he might have actually liked me." Burying my face against my arms, I sigh. "I'm so stupid...."
It had been a couple of months since Bunny and I had first hit it off. Despite the slight age difference of six years, the two of us still found a lot of things in common. From our competitiveness for, well, everything to our strong beliefs in legendary characters. Even though we bonded over the last few months, it never turned into anything romantic, much to my dissapointment.
I feel a hand on my shoulder and I look up to see Sandy giving me a thumbs up with a big smile. Grinning, I lift my head up.
"Sorry, Sandy. I shouldn't let this get me down." I laugh at the sight of him bouncing in his seat.
"Jack, my boy!" A booming voice calls out.
Turning around, I see the owner making his way towards us.
"Was sup, North?"
He hands me a list. "Need you to go and pick up ingredients from elf workers downtown. Running low on shipment."
Although it didnt seem like it, the Guardian Cafe is actually an international establishment. Because it is so popular, North had established different shops near each café for restocking purposes.
Grabbing the list, I take my apron off and head to the back door. "On it, boss! I'll be back in a bit."
Time Skip
After driving for a good 20 minutes, I find myself in front of a red factory. Parking my car in the shipment lot, I get out and make my way inside.
Once entering the building, I find myself surrounded by big men in grey clothing and operators in green uniforms rushing around the place.
At the center of building stood a giant globe of the world, listing the different locations of each establishment that needed restocking. Managing the shipments in coordination is a brown haired woman in a colorful dress.
"Tooth!" I call out, waving my hand to get her attention.
"Sweet Tooth! What are you doing here?" She calls to me, smiling whilst I walk over to her.
Toothiana, also known as "Tooth", works as the Director of all orders and product placements. Although she's seen as whimsical most of the time, she's actually very capable of managing the supplies.
"Oh, you know, strolling around town, looking for something fun to do." I answer, waving at Tooth's nieces who were playing on the lower levels.
She raises an eyebrow at me and grins. "Sweet Tooth, we both know that you're suppose to be working right now."
Chuckling I shake my head and lean against a table. "Alright, you got me! North asked me to pick up some supplies that he ordered earlier."
She stares at me with furrowed eyebrows. "Supplies? He didn't order any supplies." She rushes to the command table and searches through the paper work frantically. "I couldn't possible have missed a call, could I? I swear he didn't call, so why would he claim to call? This makes no sense!"
"Woah, woah, woah!" I raise my hands up and walk over to her. "Tooth, it's alright. I'm sure he forgot to call you," I give her a grin, "you know how he gets."
Taking a few calming breaths, Tooth nods and gives me a smile. "You're right, sorry about that, Sweet Tooth." She rolls her eyes. "I swear, sometimes that man drives me crazy."
Laughing, I wink at her. "But that's why you love him."
Shaking her head, Tooth starts to push me in the direction of the door. "Come on! Off with you! I'm sure you have things that need to be done"
Laughing, I turn and wave to her. "Alright! See ya, Tooth!"
Making my way back to the cafe, I see that it's already pretty late. With the sun setting over the horizon, I let out a whistle. "Sure is nice out..."
Pulling into the employee parking lot, I unlock the back door and make my way inside. Instead of the usual bustling about and the quiet murmurs from the customers like I'm used to, I'm met with complete silence.
Hesitating, I close the door behind me and hang the keys on the rack.
"North? Whats going on?" I call out.
Instead of a reply, I'm met with a quiet song coming from ahead of me. Raising an eyebrow, I walk foreward slowly to the front area of the cafe.
What I see next takes my breath away.
A single table is placed in the center of the cafe with a single lit candle illuminating the dark room. Rose petals placed about around the table on the floor with a cart with a bowl of spaghetti and a plate of cheesecake placed next to the table.
Along with Bunny standing next to it.
Confusion and joy mix together as I take a step foreward.
"Bunny?" I gesture to everything. "What..?"
Smiling softly, he steps foreward until we're two feet apart. "Jack Frost, will you be my valentine?"
Staring at him in shock, trying to understand if this was reality. It must have been a couple of minutes before Bunny starts to look worried.
"Jack?" He gulps. "Is, um, everything ok?" He looks down at his feet. "I understand if ya don't feel the same way. I just wanted to..." He sighs and rubs the back of his neck. "I just wanted to give it a shot. I'll, um, I'll just clean this all up and be....be on ma way..."
As he starts to turn around, I reach out and grab onto his white collared shirt. Pulling him foreward, I kiss him square on the lips.
Pulling back, I give him a happy smile and lean in so out noses touch.
"I would love to be your valentine, Aster."
