Jack's POV

Staring at my digital clock, I lay on my bed in silence.

1:26 a.m. .... 1:27 a.m.

Groaning quietly, I sit up and look around my dark room. Sighing, I shake my head and get out of bed. 'It's been 3 hours! You would think I would've fallen asleep by now!

Walking into the kitchen, I turn on the light switch, illuminating the room. Grabbing my tea kettle, I fill it with water and set it on the stove, warming it up. Grabbing a mug from the cabinet, along with a chamomile tea bag, I lean against the counter and wait in silence. Antsy, I take out my phone and scroll through my contacts until I see "Aster". Shrugging, I click on his contact number and wait as the phone rings.

RING.....RING....RING....

'He's probably not even awake right now....' I'm about to hang up when Aster picks up the phone.

"'ello?" He answers groggily, I can just imagine him laying in bed with his eyes closed as he answers the phone.

Smiling softly, I hug my waist while whispering quietly. "Hi Bun-Bun."

Groaning quietly, I hear him shift a bit in the background, probably turning onto his die. "Jackie? What's wrong, do you need me to come over?"

Touched by the concern in his voice, my smile grows even more. "I'm fine Aster. I didn't mean to worry you, I just couldn't seem to fall asleep."

He stays silent for a while before I him moving again on the other side. "I'll be over in 10."

Blushing a bit, I rush to reassure him. "It's fine Aster! I'm fine here, really."

"Are you sure?" Aster hesitates. "It's really not a problem if you want some company."

Giggling quietly, I shake my head. "No, it's fine, really." I turn back to the tea kettle as it whistles quietly. "But," I turn the burner off and pour some water into the mug, "would it be ok if you stayed on the phone with me until I fall asleep?" I ask uncertainly as I put the tea bag in my mug while walking to my room.

"Of course Snowflake." He whispers softly, making me blush at the endearment.

Laying down with pillows propping me up slightly in bed, I take a sip of my drink. "So what do you have in mind for tomorrow?" Glancing at the clock, I grimace slightly. "Er...today, I mean."

He chuckles quietly on the other line. "Well I have a meeting at 9 with North, we're going to discuss the logo for his new coffee grind bag."

North had given Aster the job as Designer for any new logo or commercial products for his company. Aster had immediately accepted the job since the job payed better than his other job and he could work from home instead of in a cubicle like his old job.

Finishing the rest of my drink, I set the mug down on my nightstand and lay down in bed. Relaxing at Aster's soothing voice, I pull the covers over my shoulders. "Keep going."

Chuckling quietly, he continues talking. "Then I'm going to go and pick up some lunch for you and me. I'll bring it around 2 once you get back from that doctors appointment of yours."

"Mm hmm..." I feel my eyes starting to droop as sleep starts to wash over me.

"Then I'm going to make sure you take a nap since you're probably going to be so tired when you wake up." His voice gets quieter, soothing my nerves. "Obviously you wont' want to, but I know I can bribe you by bringing some cookies from your favorite bakery down the street."

By now, I'm drifting on the edge of sleep. "Mmm....That sounds nice..." I yawn quietly.

"Jackie," he chuckles softly, "I think it's time for you to go to bed now."

Smiling softly, I nod and turn onto my other side while closing my eyes. "Stay on the phone until I fall asleep?"

"Of course." He whispers softly. "Goodnight, Jack. Sweet dreams."

Smiling sleepily, I start to drift off. "Goodnight, Aster. Sleep tight..." I whisper as I fall asleep with Aster's calm breathing lulling me to sleep.
