Jack's POV
Shimming the key into the lock, I growl in frustration at rusty lock on my apartment's door. Finally, after struggling for five minutes, the door finally unlock and I make my way inside. Hanging the keys on the rack by the door, I kick my shoes off while grumbling.
"Really need to get that fixed..." Sighing, I'm about to head to the kitchen to make some much needed tea when the doorbell rings. Curious, I look through the peep hole to see my little Bunbun on the other side. Smiling happily, I unlock the door and open it. "Aster!" I exclaim, rushing forward and wrapping my arms around his waist. "I missed you!"
I feel his chest vibrate from chuckling as he wraps his big arms around me, pulling me close. "I missed you too, Snowflake."
Pulling back, I peck his cheek and pull him inside. "How was your business trip? Did it go well?"
Aster had been given a job opportunity by a moderately wealthy individual who lived in the next town, which was a three hour drive. He had asked me if he should take the job and I immediately supported the idea, telling him that this is a big opportunity for him. Even though I was saddened at the thought of him being gone for a couple of days, but I was immediately reassured by my Kangaroo when he told me he would call every day.
Watching as he takes his shoes with a sigh, I can't help but feel as if something was wrong. "It went fine. I got the job and all I need to do is create the painting by the end of this week and drive back up there to give it to him."
Confused, I give him a concerned look. "The end of this week? That's only four days from now."
Nodding, Aster sighs while scratching the back of his neck. "I know, that's what I told him but the guy insisted that it be done by then, something about a big party being thrown and wanting to show it off." Rolling his eyes, he leans down and gives me a kiss on the cheek. "Guys a moron, that's for sure."
Grabbing his hand, I lead him to the kitchen. Seating him at the kitchen island, I give him a pout. "That's no fair, he should know that it takes time to create art." Gathering ingredients from the cabinet and fridge, I turn my back to him. "What's the painting supposed to be of?" I ask, slicing up ingredients.
I hear him groan, making me a smile a bit. "The thing is, the guy wants a painting of the Eiffel Tower." Glancing back at him, I can't help but chuckle as he throws his hands up in the air. "We're not even in France, yet the jackass says he wants one!"
Shaking my head, I take slices and set them aside. Pouring a series of ingredients into a cup, I mix it together and dip the slices in briefly, giving it a nice seasoning. "Why the Eiffel Tower?"
"Lord only knows! Said he visited when he was twelve and never got a souvenir. So this is his belated one, apparently."
I add the finishing touches. "Sounds like a downright prick."
I turn around in time to see him scoff. "Of course he is."
Smiling at him, I walk over and hand him a margarita. "Here, sweetie. You need to relax a bit, alright?" Standing behind him, I wrap my arms around his neck and rest my chin on his shoulder.
Taking a sip, my Bunbun lets out a relieved breath, already relaxing against my hold as I run my fingers through his hair. "This is just what I needed." Turning to me, he kisses my lips softly. "Thank you, Snowflake."
Kissing him back, I smile. "You're welcome Kangaroo."
