Recap-

“Someone is being a bad girl, not following orders. And what do bad girls get, that right punishment.” To which Sofia just let out a loud moan.

Unaware that someone was listening to them.

Hope descended the grand staircase of the Mikaelson Mansion, her excitement reaching the sky as she prepared for her first day of school.

Hayley, standing at the base of the stairs, greeted her with a warm smile.

"Hope, ready for school?" Hayley asked, her tone encouraging.

"Yes, Mom. I am super excited for my first day," Hope replied with a beaming smile, her steps light as she approached the front hall. "I can finally be myself without getting judged."

Klaus appeared in the doorway, his eyes gleaming with an unusual mixture of pride and eagerness.

"Hope, your mother, Elijah, and I are coming with you to school today," he announced.

His intent was clear—he wanted to meet Sofia, who brought him a rare sense of happiness.

"Okay, Dad," Hope said, her voice carrying a hint of eagerness.

She wants her father to be happy, and she knows Sofia is a significant part of that happiness

Despite the family's external harmony, Hope felt a subtle unease around Hayley.

While she acknowledged Hayley’s role as a protective mother, she couldn’t shake the feeling that Hayley didn’t offer the emotional warmth a mother should.

On the other hand, Sofia had been a source of comfort and affection, something Hope had longed for.

Sofia's kindness made Hope view her not just as a stepmother but as the maternal figure she deeply cherished.

As the group arrived at the school, the sprawling grounds were bustling with students.

The Mikaelsons, with Hope at the forefront, made their way to the entrance, where Sofia’s children, Jace and Issy, awaited.

Hope’s face lit up when she spotted them. “Good morning, Isabella, Jace,” she greeted, her voice warm and inviting.

Issy, who had always been known for her vibrant, quirky personality, responded immediately.

“Good morning, Hope! Please, call me Issy. My name can be a mouth full,” she said, stepping forward to embrace her new half-sister.

Her hug was genuine and friendly, a clear sign of her welcoming nature. Trying her best to connect with Hope as per her mother's suggestion.

Jace, however, maintained a more reserved demeanour, observing the interaction with a curious gaze.

He had always been more cautious, and today was no different.

As the siblings exchanged pleasantries, Hope’s eyes were drawn to Issy’s tattoos, which were prominent and distinctive.

Her curiosity got the better of her.

“Issy, aren’t you a bit young for tattoos? And wouldn’t you want to choose designs that might suit you better? After all, they’re permanent,” she commented innocently.

Issy’s smile faltered, and a flicker of anger flashed in her eyes.

The Shadowhunter runes drawn into her skin were sacred symbols, representing strength and identity.

To her, they were far more than mere ink.

“What did you just say?” Issy’s voice was sharp, her anger evident.

The pride she took in her runes meant any disrespect was a serious matter.

Jace, sensing the rising tension, stepped in swiftly.

“Issy, calm down. She doesn’t know,” he said, trying to defuse the situation.

He noticed the Mikaelsons, particularly Klaus, filled with concern. But Issy was not easily convinced.

“Jace, how dare she disrespect my runes by calling them tattoos! I will not stand for it!” she spat, her anger growing more intense.

She tried her best to befriend Hope, but what did it give her in return? Disrespect.

Jace’s heart raced. He had seen Issy’s temper before, and it was not something to be taken lightly.

Her fury was legendary among their family and friends, and he knew all too well what it could lead to.

Without attracting too much attention, he quickly reached for his phone and dialled their mother’s number, hoping she could intervene before things escalated further.

As he waited for his mother to answer, Jace cast a worried glance towards Hope and the Mikaelsons.

The potential for a confrontation was palpable, and he feared the repercussions for both families if the situation wasn't resolved swiftly.

Elijah, watching the interaction with a stoic expression, kept a careful eye on the scene.

He knew how delicate these familiar dynamics could be and was ready to step in if needed.

Hayley, though typically more assertive, seemed to be holding back, her gaze shifting between Klaus and the unfolding drama.

Meanwhile, Klaus stood with a tense posture, his protective instincts on high alert.

His primary concern was ensuring Hope’s smooth first day in her new environment and maintaining peace between his family and Sofia.
