"I saw that you ripped your journal apart" Ezra starts

He's been here for a while and it's getting dark outside. After he finished my braids, we just hung out together, watched four movies, and then he showed me all the work I missed from school.

And now we're sitting cross-legged on my carpet watching Powerpuff Girls because we watched 'I T' and he got scared.

"They were really good poems Zora" he continues

"You don't have to say that" I shrug

"I'm being so serious. I'm they weren't about, you know, I would've loved them"

I look away awkwardly

"You should tell her"

I scoff "are you crazy?"
"Don't you think if I wanted to tell her I would've told her? It's been like 5 years Ez"

He goes quiet again
"You know I never liked her?"

"What?"

"I never liked Sierra," he says plainly

"Why?"
I thought he was gonna reply something like 'because she stole you from me'. But he doesn't and that's so typical of him. He never wants to express his feelings of anything other than love or happiness and it irritates me. It's unfair for me to say but I want him to fight for me.

But his reason is another thing entirely.

"Your friendship with her is just very… unbalanced. Like you would do so much for her and yes she appreciates it but she'd never do the things you do for her for you. She barely even cared that you weren't at school."

"No, you just haven't known her for as long as I have. She's nice she just doesn't really show it"

"Zora, ive known this girl almost as long as ive known you and she's selfish, all she does is fuck up and do bad things and covers it all up with 'yolo'"

"... that's not true"
