"Okay, but does Obasan know?" Boruto asked, settling on his bed and slowly unbuttoning his shirt as they talked.
"Kinda. She figured it out herself," Sarada said, sitting down next to Boruto.
"She was saying stuff like, 'Sarada, your heart doesn't belong to you,' or something," Sarada added, chuckling softly.
"As expected from Sakura Obasan," Boruto sighed.
"Boruto," Sarada said, her tone more serious.
"Do you have any idea what's going on with this reverse situation and everything?"
"Not really, but Sasuke-san and I have decided to start by finding Eida's whereabouts," Boruto replied.
"That's a good start. I could help you—"
"No, Sarada," Boruto interrupted.
"W-why not? It'd be helpful for you guys," Sarada argued, but Boruto shook his head.
"This is far too dangerous, Sarada," Boruto said, glancing at her.
"You must stay here and—"
"And wait?" Sarada whispered, anger building in her voice. "And wait till they kill you?" she exclaimed. "I am not waiting around anymore. Three years was more than enough!" Tears welled in her eyes as she cried out.
"Sarada, please calm down," Boruto said, reaching out to hold her hand, but she pulled away.
"Every second without you, I was worried. I hoped that you would be okay and alive. I could only hope. I felt useless," Sarada sobbed.
"You're not useless, Sarada," Boruto insisted.
"I wanted you to be here with me," Sarada said, her voice breaking as she cried.
"Sarada..." Boruto uttered softly, pulling her into a warm embrace. In that moment, Sarada let out all the pent-up emotions she'd been holding back for so long, her tears soaking into his shirt.
"Yosh yosh," Boruto chuckled softly, patting Sarada's back in a soothing rhythm.
"P-please let me come with you" Sarada uttered, her voice trembling with desperation.
Boruto held her a bit tighter, feeling the weight of her plea. He took a deep breath, his heart heavy with the decision he had to make.
"Sarada, I understand how you feel. But this is... incredibly dangerous. I can't risk losing you."
Sarada pulled back slightly, her eyes red and puffy but full of determination.
"Boruto, I can't just sit here and do nothing. I want to fight alongside you. We've trained together, faced challenges together. Let me help."
Boruto gazed into her eyes, seeing the fire and resolve within them. He knew she was capable, strong, and relentless, just like her parents. But the fear of something happening to her gnawed at him.
"You don't understand," Boruto said, his voice almost breaking.
"If something happened to you... I couldn't bear it."
Sarada wiped her tears, standing firm.
"And if something happens to you while I'm here doing nothing, I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Please, Boruto, we can do this together."
Boruto sighed deeply, feeling torn.
"Sarada, the reason I came back to Konoha is because of you," Boruto confessed, his words hanging heavily in the air, leaving Sarada confused and unsure.
