"Sooo un-I mean- Sasuke-san," Boruto said, scuffing the back of his hair as he glanced at the tall, black-clad Uchiha. "Why the urgency?""Kawaki's back in Konoha," Sasuke said, activating his Sharingan and staying alert for any signs of Kara members.
"Eh!? You gotta be kidding—I mean... Where is he right now?" Boruto cleared his throat, looking around with his hood on.
"Probably at their house. Be cautious," Sasuke replied.
As they proceeded deeper into the woods, they found themselves outside Konoha's sensory unit range, where they could freely use their chakra. Suddenly, a crackling noise echoed through the forest. Sasuke immediately activated his Sharingan, sensing another chakra nearby.
"W-what?" Boruto whispered.
"Someone else is here..." Sasuke whispered back, drawing his katana. Boruto cautiously moved toward the bush where the noise originated. Reaching into the bush, he dragged out a familiar figure.
"C-class rep!?" Boruto gasped.
"B-Boruto-kun!?" Sumire exclaimed.
"She knows?" Sasuke asked, glancing at Boruto, who nodded in confirmation.
"What are you doing here?" Boruto asked, squatting to meet Sumire's gaze.
"I always find you in weird places, huh?" He scanned the forest before focusing back on her.
"I'm on a mission," Sumire replied.
"Mission?" Boruto asked, confused.
"Yes. It was assigned to me by the Lord 8th."
"Sumire, was it?" Sasuke asked, stepping into the conversation. Sumire nodded nervously.
"Yes, Sasuke-san."
Sasuke's eyes narrowed slightly. "What do you know about Eida's powers and whereabouts?"
Sumire took a deep breath, steadying herself. "Eida's abilities are complex. She has the power to captivate anyone who lays eyes on her, making them loyal to her, except for those who share Otsutsuki blood or possess strong enough willpower."
Sasuke nodded, absorbing the information. "And her current location?"
"She's been seen with kawaki, and they're rumored to be in their mansion somewhere near the hokage department. However, their movements are unpredictable."
Boruto's expression grew serious. "Thanks for the info, Sumire."
Sumire nodded. "I'm here to help. Lord 8th thought I might be useful in tracking their movements."
Sasuke considered this for a moment. "Your skills could be invaluable. Stay close and be alert."
Sumire smiled faintly. "I will. Thank you, Sasuke-san."
As they continued their journey, the tension in the air was palpable. Boruto glanced at Sumire, a mix of concern and determination in his eyes. "We'll get through this together," he said quietly.
Sumire nodded, her resolve strengthening. "Yes, we will."
With Sasuke leading the way, the three of them pressed on, each step bringing them closer to the confrontation that awaited them.
"How have things been going for you, Boruto-kun?" Sumire asked curiously, her hands behind her back interlocked as she walked beside Boruto along the forest path.
"It's been... hm..." Boruto rubbed his chin, thinking. "Peaceful?" He chuckled softly.
"So da ne!" Sumire clapped her hands, laughing merrily.
