Sarada's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she listened to Boruto's careless chatter. They had just finished their dinner, and as they walked back to her bedroom, Boruto seemed determined to push her buttons.
"Boruto, will you please just stop talking about that stuff?" Sarada snapped, her patience wearing thin.
Boruto grinned mischievously, his blue eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Aw, come on, Sarada! You know you love it when I tease you," he replied, his tone playful.
Sarada rolled her eyes, resisting the urge to roll her eyes.
"Not when it's about private stuff," she retorted, crossing her arms over her chest.
Boruto's grin widened as he leaned closer, his voice dropping to a whisper.
"Oh, come on, Sarada. You know you like it when I whisper sweet nothings in your ear," he teased, his breath warm against her skin.
Sarada felt a shiver run down her spine at his words, her cheeks flushing even brighter.
"Boruto, I'm serious. Stop it," she warned, her voice tinged with irritation.
Boruto chuckled, pulling away slightly to study her reaction.
" Fine, fine. I'll stop," he relented, though the mischievous glint in his eyes told Sarada he wasn't done teasing her just yet.
As they continued walking, Sarada's mind drifted back to a conversation she had overheard between her father and Boruto a few days ago. Sasuke had mentioned Sumire's name in passing, and it had left Sarada feeling uneasy.
"Boruto," Sarada began, her voice hesitant as she broached the subject.
"What did my dad mean when he mentioned Sumire?"
Boruto's expression shifted, his playful demeanor fading as he regarded Sarada with a serious expression.
"Oh, uh... it's nothing, Sarada. Just a misunderstanding," he replied evasively, his eyes flickering away from hers.
Sarada frowned, sensing that Boruto was hiding something from her.
"Boruto, don't lie to me," she pressed, her tone firm.
Boruto sighed, running a hand through his unruly hair.
"Okay, fine. Sumire... she confessed to me," he admitted, his voice tinged with guilt.
Sarada's heart sank at his words, a wave of sadness washing over her.
"And?" she prompted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Boruto hesitated for a moment before continuing.
"And I told her that I liked you, Sarada. That I couldn't be with her because... because I'm in love with you," he confessed, his gaze earnest as he met her eyes.
Sarada's breath caught in her throat at his admission, her heart fluttering with a mix of emotions.
"Boruto..." she murmured, at a loss for words.
Boruto reached out and took her hand in his, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
"I'm sorry, Sarada. I didn't mean to hurt her," he said softly, his expression filled with remorse.
Sarada nodded, feeling a lump form in her throat as she thought about Sumire.
"It's okay, Boruto. You did the right thing," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Boruto smiled gratefully at her, relieved to see that she wasn't angry with him.
"Thanks, Sarada. I just... I want you to know that you're the only one for me," he said earnestly, his eyes filled with sincerity.
Sarada felt her heart swell with affection for him, grateful to have him by her side.
"I know, Boruto. And I feel the same way about you," she replied, her voice filled with warmth.
As they walked in silence for a moment, a thought crossed Boruto's mind, and he couldn't help but speak up.
"Hey, Sarada... you know, I heard that Kawaki has been spending a lot of time with Sumire lately," he mentioned casually, hoping to change the subject.
Sarada's eyebrows furrowed in confusion at the sudden change in topic.
"Really? I wonder why," she mused, her curiosity piqued.
Boruto shrugged, a playful grin spreading across his face.
"Who knows? Maybe he's starting to develop a crush on her," he suggested, a hint of mischief in his tone.
Sarada chuckled, shaking her head at Boruto's antics.
"Yeah, right. Like Kawaki would ever admit to having feelings for anyone," she replied, though a part of her couldn't help but wonder if there was some truth to Boruto's words.
As they approached Sarada's house, Boruto's playful demeanor returned, and he couldn't resist teasing her one last time.
"Hey, Sarada... since we're on the subject of love and all, how about we make some more memories together?" he suggested, his voice filled with mischief.
Sarada's cheeks flushed with embarrassment at his suggestion, but she couldn't help but laugh at his antics.
"Boruto, you're annoying ," she teased, shaking her head in amusement.
Boruto grinned, feeling a sense of satisfaction at having lightened the mood.
"Come on, Sarada. You know you want to," he teased, winking at her playfully.
Sarada rolled her eyes, though she couldn't suppress the smile that tugged at the corners of her lips.
"Maybe some other time, Boruto. Right now, I think we've had enough excitement for one day," she replied, her tone laced with amusement.
Boruto chuckled, feeling a sense of contentment wash over him as he walked beside Sarada.
