"The pantry back home is always well-stocked

"The pantry back home is always well-stocked. Sometimes I wonder how any of the others get by with such paltry pickings." Wooyoung huffed, sorting through the kitchen storeroom.

Not that there was much to sift through. It wasn't as if food was scarce. No. The shelves were stocked but contained many of the same ingredients.

"Coming from someone who's never lived on the coast, some ingredients aren't exactly easy to come by." I reminded him, taking it upon myself to look through the shelf nearest to me.

"Have you ever been to Rainad?"

"No. Apart from Tregeron, I'd never stepped foot outside of Nirian before meeting you all."

I pushed aside a box of dried herbs, eyes lighting up at what I found behind them.

"Hey, there's strawberries."

Wooyoung scrunched his nose, and with an audible sigh of discontent started grabbing what he thought he could use.

"Not really my thing. They're good in moderation."

I hummed, leaving them be for now. "Beggars can't be choosers, Woo."

I turned, nearly running smack into Wooyoung who had moved closer on his way towards the door. He tilted his head to the side, a self-satisfied grin tugging at his perfect lips.

"I like it when you call me that."

"What? A beggar?" I lifted a brow, unable to help my own smug grin from forming.

"You tease kitten. I can appreciate it though seeing as I rather enjoy it myself."

I scrunched my nose at the pet name. Chuckling softly, he leaned forward, bumping the end of his nose to mine.

"You're cute."

Fighting the blush off my face, I grabbed one of the baskets in his arms. Wooyoung's ability to lay out his feelings unabashedly was enviable. I wish I had the confidence to voice my feelings like he did. While I was slowly coming to the realization of how I felt, especially when it came to him and the others, admitting them wholeheartedly was another story. Sensing my shift in demeanor, Wooyoung retreated, giving me space.

"Can I show you a true Rainad staple when it comes to food?"

Thankful for the turn of conversation, I nodded enthusiastically. His grin widened.

"Excellent. I think you'll really like it."

"You sound awfully confident."

He hummed, setting what he had out on the counter before separating them into what he would need now and what he would use later.

"Considering the sweet tooth I've noticed you have; I think my assumption is a safe one."

"So, it's a dessert?"
