Lando's POVI don't know what happened last night. I didn't plan to go back to her room, didn't plan to look at her like that.
Wanted to text her, tell her to come see me in my hospitality but I still didn't have her number.
And she almost never checked her Instagram messages.
Went to the paddock extremely early, don't know why, maybe because I wanted to catch her alone.
I didn't want to have feelings for her, she likes Max and most importantly, Max definitely likes her.
Couldn't do that to him.
So I hide in my driver's room after the practice sessions. Like a coward.
"What's wrong with you lately?" Jon asked. "Nothing" I mumbled.
A lot was wrong with me mate.
He looked at me with a frown, but he didn't say anything else.
It was silent for a while until he got up and looked back at me. "Are you gonna hide here the entire day?"
"That was exactly what I was planning to do"
"Unfortunately you can't" he gestured to get up. "You have interviews"
I groaned. "With F1tv?"
"And Sky Spor-"
"Okay let's go" I said, getting up as quickly as I could. Didn't even meant to do that, it came naturally.
My heart always beat faster when I heard her name or Sky Sports. As in a reflex.
"Thought you hated those interviews?" Jon raised his eyebrow. He couldn't believe what he just saw and to be honest, me neither.
"Still do" I shrugged.
Just not the girl who was doing the interviews.
Walked with my PR manager to the media pen and did the interviews as a good boy.
Until it was time for my favorite girl.
"Hi Gianna" I smiled. Didn't know if she would still be weirded out from yesterday.
I knew I definitely was.
"Hey Lando!" She smiled beautifully. "How are you liking the Australian sun?"
"Yeah, I love it, makes me tan" I chuckled, referring to yesterday evening. "Yeah me too, can't you see it?" She laughed, showing her tanned arm.
Her fake tan, but still looked perfect.
"Yeah definitely, like a real Italian" I laughed and so did she.
"But you're also looking very fast, do you feel confident in your car?" She changed the subject to more serious things.
And I hated it.
I wished we could banter a little more. I loved our flirty banter but obviously this wasn't the place.
"I definitely do, I feel like we can fight for a podium here"
Hopefully she would get what I was trying to say. Wasn't gonna fight for a podium, I was gonna fight for her number.
"Oh really? I definitely hope you'll get a podium" she smiled.
Now I wanted it even more. It was maybe stupid, but having her number would make things so much more easy.
I could send her little flirty texts, call her, FaceTime her.
"Are you guys done?" Someone said from behind me. Shaking me completely out of my thoughts.
Turned around and saw Max standing behind me. He wasn't looking at me, probably wasn't even talking to me either.
He was looking at Gianna.
"Actually-" I said, but my PR assistant already nodded her head. "Yes we are"
"Thank you Lando, good luck tomorrow" Gianna looked at me with a little smile and Max smirked at me.
As if he won.
I walked away, to the next journalist. Wasn't even listening to her questions, was looking at Max and Gianna.
She was giggling, he was leaning closer against the barrier.
He used to hate doing interviews with Sky Sports, it were probably his favorites right now.
Just like it were mine.
The thoughts that I had about not going after her because Max likes her, were now completely gone.
Game on mate.
