"And that's.." my engineer hesitated a little, definitely too long for my liking. "P3 mate"

I breathed out, felt quite happy about that.

It was a good qualifying, so that meant it would be easier tomorrow.

Max was obviously on pole again, so I walked with him to the conference room after the qualifying.

Sat down next to him, I noticed he wanted to get my attention by making a few jokes, but I was too distracted looking for Gianna.

She wasn't here, so she would be in the media pen. Sky Sports definitely changed their mind about her, they let her do pretty much every interview from now on.

And she was good at it.

She made you feel comfortable, and she obviously wasn't too bad to look at.

Most of the questions were directed to Max and Lewis, who qualified P2 for the first time in a while.
And it was like everyone got flashbacks to a few years back.

So they concentrated on them two and forgot about me.

I didn't mind, I didn't want to be here either way, I wanted to go to the media pen as fast as I could.

Never expected that would ever happen.

I bet Max wanted to get out of here as well, for the same reason.

But when the press conference ended, Max didn't seem so excited to go to the media pen, I thought it was a good thing, thought they maybe had a fight.

Hopefully they had a fight.

Did a few interviews before I reached the spot were Sky Sports was always standing.

Milan smiled as he saw me, tried not to look too disappointed.

"Hi Lando, great qualifying, you looked very quick!" He said, as enthusiastic as he could.

I liked Milan, he was always nice to me so I tried to answer his questions as excited and normal as I could.

"Thank you Lando" he nodded after a few questions. "Gianna isn't here?" I asked.

And by the look on his face, I could tell I wasn't the first one to ask.

"She wasn't feeling well, so she went back to her room" he explained. "Oh okay" I nodded.

Guess I wasn't gonna see her tonight after all.

Would be much easier if I had her number though.

"I can give you her room number if you want" he said before I wanted to leave.

"That would be great" I instantly smiled.

He smiled as well, gave me her hotel and room number.

Guess Sky Sports were in my corner.

Did all my necessary interviews, changed out of my racing suit and walked to my car.

Had to make a little stop before going to Gianna's room.

So after I picked up some chicken soup, I drove to her hotel, walked through the hall, up to the elevator.

"Is Mclaren staying here as well?" Someone asked. Didn't even need to turn around to see who it was, I would recognize that accent everywhere.

"No, we are not" I said, turning around to see Max standing in front of me. "I am here to see Gianna"

Pretty sure he was here for the same reason.

He narrowed his eyes. "How close are the two of you?"

"We're pretty close.." I said, followed by something I wish I didn't say. "friends"

"Okay" he nodded, pressed the button of the elevator again. "She texted me, she's feeling sick"

"Yeah I know, Milan told me" I pointed at the bag in my hand. "I brought her chicken soup"

He looked down at the bag in my hand and I felt so stupid. She didn't want me here, she texted him, not me.

"I'll bring it to her if you want?" Max asked. "Uh-yeah thanks" I said, handing him the bag.

The elevator opened and Max walked in. "I will tell her you said hi" he said with a smile.

I nodded as the elevator doors closed again.

"Fucking coward" I mumbled to myself.
