Gianna's POV

Felt a little better the next morning, woke up next to Max.

He came to see me last night. Didn't really want to see anyone but he was really convincing, so I just told him my room number.

He was actually really sweet - he brought me chicken soup, cuddled me the entire night.

Lando on the other hand ignored my dm's on Instagram. He was the only one I actually wanted to see.

Maybe he was just too busy.

Went to the paddock with Max, didn't even bother to walk in separately anymore.

"Will you be okay?" He asked as we stopped in front of his hospitality.

He's been really cute with me lately. Pretty sure he wanted to be more as friends, more than friends with benefits.

I was still hesitant about it, because my heart still didn't skip a beat like it did when I was around Lando.

"I will be fine, good luck Max" I answered, wrapped my arms around him and hugged him.

He definitely gave the best hugs.

Walked further to the media center by myself after that.
My head was still pounding, my stomach was also not fine, but I wanted to be here for the race.

"Gi!" Sophie smiled as I walked in the media center. "Are you feeling better?"

"Yes I am, how was the qualifying?" I asked, but I also already knew because I watched it.

I watched Lando qualify third. Was happy about that. Hopefully he would be on the podium today.

So I could finally give him my number, it would definitely make things easier.

"It was good, pretty interesting, Max got pole" she looked at me. "But you probably knew that already"

Didn't answer her rhetorical question.

"And Lando is on P3, Lewis on P2" she explained.

"Yes that's definitely an interesting qualifying" I nodded, walked to my spot and grabbed my laptop out of my purse.

"Sooooo" she followed me, leaned on the table where I was sitting on and looked down at me. "What's going on between Max and you?"

"Nothing" I shrugged. "We are just friends"

"Just friends huh" she chuckled, sat down on the table. "Max never liked to do interviews with Sky Sports and now he's smiling while doing them"

"Oh really? Didn't notice that" I shrugged again, opened my laptop, hopefully that would make her back off but it didn't.

"Max?" Milan asked as he joined us as well. "Thought you had a thing for Lando?"

This was getting annoying, they made me look as if I was the paddock slut.

"No, we are just friends as well, you do realize that guys and women can be friends, right?"

"I do know that" Milan said. "But he asked how you were and I actually gave him your room number so I thought he was gon-"

"You did what?" I interrupted him.

"He looked concerned, so I gave him you room number"

But he didn't bother to reply to his dm's on Instagram or to actually come to my room.

That was a sign that we were actually nothing more than friends, if we even were friends to begin with.

"Oh, did he visit you last night?" Sophie smiled, looked at me again.

"No he didn't" didn't even need to lie about that because he actually didn't. Which was even more embarrassing.

"Oh" Milan and Sophie both said at the same time. "He was probably busy" Sophie tried to shrug it off.

"Yeah surely"

Milan and Sophie both left to do their own work after that and so did I.

Prepared the interviews for after the race as much as I could before I went out to have a little walk around the paddock before the race was gonna start.

Walked passed a few drivers as they walked to their garage, they all nodded.

Everyone except Lando.

He walked out of his hospitality, the straw of his drinking bottle was in his mouth. He looked at me, I looked at him.

But we both didn't say or do anything. No smile, not even a little nod.

Nothing.
