When we get far enough away we stand and bolt towards the car. We get in and Travis drives as fast as he can. We don't even mess with the cover we put on the Jeep. The stuff flies off scratching the car in the process. We don't slowdown in till we hit the main road. Then we slow down to the speed limit.
Finally I break the silence. I start laughing.
"I can't believe we did that! And we didn't need backup!" I say. Travis smiles then gives me the amulet.
"Yep who know you could be right multiples times in a row?" Travis comments. I roll my eyes.
"I understand why they wanted this. It's beautiful." I say admiring the amulet.
"Thanks to you others will be able to admire it too." Travis says sounding sweet almost fond. I blush at his comment, I don't understand why I did which probably made the blushing worse. The rest of the ride is filled with our conversations. We finally can talk freely and like normal people. At some points I think I see him avoiding my gaze smiling too.
Finally we get back to the airport. We park where we got the Jeep and get out. We meet at the end of the car and stand there for who knows how long. After a while Travis breaks the silence.
"You deserve to be a part of the Organization. Yes you can be an idiot but... you can get things done." Travis pauses looking away for a moment. "... Good job." Travis finishes. I laugh.
"That was painful for you wasn't it?" I ask between laughs. Travis rolls his eyes then looks back at me.
"Got the amulet?" he asks. I hold up the amulet with a smile. Travis holds out a hand to me. I'm not sure if he wants the amulet or something else. I decide to mess with him. I take his hand in mine. Travis freezes for a moment then starts to walk towards the planes, my hand still in his. We walk almost silently.
I don't know how to act, I'm holding his hand. What do I do?!
We get close to the planes and we both see it. The organization waiting. Darn it, we ae so dead, probably me more then Travis. We pause and stay standing there for a moment. Travis squeezes my hand and still doesn't let go. I take a deep breath and squeeze his hand back. Travis takes a deep breath then asks.
"You ready?"
"As much as I can be." I answer. Then we start walking and all of the agents and everyone notices us. Our hands together and my other holding up the amulet for all of them to see.
