The Amulet of Bomani

Chapter 4

I think about it for a minute and decide

"I say we go to the temple." I say confidently.

"The warehouse it is then." Travis says starting in that direction.

"Hey wait!" I call after him. He stops at looks at me. "They are smarter than they we give them credit for. We would think the amulet they would take the amulet to their warehouse but what if they just want us to think that? They could just be staying at the temple waiting for us to show up at their warehouse."

"Well that was the longest and most confusing way to stay that." Travis comments.

"Give me a break it is 3 in the morning!" I call crossing my arms.

"But! You might be right. Plane it is." Travis says walking back towards me.

"Fantastic!" I yell walking towards the path which the planes are at the end of. Travis catches up and points the flashlight

We hide behind a rock and trees near the hanger.

"Why are we hiding? It's almost 4 in the morning no one show be here." I say to Travis.

"We still need to make sure no one is on duty." Travis says annoyed. Without a warning Travis gets up and starts sneaking towards the fence. I get up and follow annoyed that he didn't even say anything.

We make it to the fence and he starts climbing. I follow going a lot slower than him. When I finally get over the fence Travis isn't even there. Suddenly I heard gunshots. I throw up my arms knowing somehow Travis is behind this. I run over to the sound hiding behind the building. I peak around the corner to see of course Travis holding a rifle and shooting the celling. Three guards running away from him. I would be too. He looks like a nut case.

"Travis!" I whisper yell. He whips his head and gun towards me. As soon as he notices it me he runs over.

"Took you long enough." He responds.

"I took like 5 minutes getting over that fence! I yell quietly.

"Three minutes too long." Travis responds as he starts towards a small plane. I run into the building, which is just a glorified garage. I look around for keys to the planes. Knowing Travis he will only think of a plane that can get us there unnoticed. We just might make a boom. After running in circles I find them. I run through the door with a glass window. I grab all of the keys on the wall and start to run back to Travis.

"What are you doing?!" Travis yells at me.

"Just follow!" I yell running towards a bigger plane. Travis follows not wanting to, but there nothing he can do to stop me. The plane I run to has the stairs near it. When I'm close enough I yell at Travis.

"Get the stairs and put them at that one!" I point to the plane and I drop to the ground to find the correct keys. Travis flails around before deciding finally to get the stairs. While he gets the stairs I find the keys.

When I get the correct keys I pocket the rest. Travis almost has the stairs to the plane. I go over and help push it. When it hits the plane we both run up the stairs. I get to the top first and put in the key. The door unlocks and Travis has to help me push the heavy door open. When we both are in the plane I tell Travis:

"Close and lock the door." -I pause for a moment- "Just make sure we can fly safely." after speaking I run to the cockpit. Half way I realize I'm running the wrong way. I turn and catch a worried look from Travis as he closes the door. I pause in the cockpit, because I don't know how to fly, but I'm sure Travis does.
