I was trapped in a world alone with Bonnie Bennett. Can't say I'm not enjoying this. 'You hungry?' I called from the kitchen of the Salvatore's. 'Oh so now you're a house wife?' Bonnie said jokingly which actually hurt a little. 'Do you want dinner or not?' I said through stifled laughter. 'Sure, just don't poison me' she said in a passive aggressive tone. 'Why would I poison you?' I had to ask walking into the living room where she sat. 'It's a joke' she said calmly smiling at me. I let out a pathetic laugh trying to hide my embarrassment. 'I'll make something' I said as I sauntered away, casually biting my lip while smiling because I knew she was looking at me.

We stood outside in silence watching the sky. Bonnie was desperate to get out of here because this brought back bad memories for her... Memories that I caused. Just more pain I caused. I looked at Bonnie as she looked intently at the sky. She looked like she was no longer examining but rather just lost in thought, too far away to notice me staring. Her eyes were beautiful even when I couldn't see them clearly, green with flecks of brown. Pretty. She had taken her cardigan and crossed it over her body with her arms folded in place. She looked cold. 'Are you cold?' I asked jerking her out of her day dream. 'Oh no I'm okay' she replied coming back to earth, or well... Here. I wanted to apologise yet again for what I had done to her but she interrupted my train of thought by saying 'Kai what time is it?' I felt butterflies when she said my name but couldn't let myself get carried away. 'Ummm...' I checked my wrist to reveal no watch. 'I don't know'
'Something's not right.' She said bluntly with fear in her eyes. We were both looking at each other now, she looked so fragile and scared and not in a way she had before, it was different this time. I just looked at her in confusion.
'The sun seems to be setting and the moon isn't out'
'What are you getting at Bonnie?' I had to ask
She looked intently at the sky for a while before saying 'you know what I think we should go inside for twenty minutes, we are just too early, I'm overthinking this' I followed her into the house. I'm sure nothing was wrong.

'Hey do you think-' I started speaking before I looked over at Bonnie and realised she had fell asleep on the couch by the warmth of the fire. 'Oh' I whispered under my breath, not wanting to wake her. I went outside into the twilight sky where there was definitely no eclipse. I didn't want to scare Bonnie and she was asleep, I couldn't disturb her, so instead I stood outside for over a half hour watching the sky. I decided to wander back inside and accidentally drifted asleep on a nearby couch.

I woke up to the sound of Bonnie shouting my name. 'Kai, Kai !' I squinted my eyes at her because I had just opened them.'we missed the eclipse!' She exclaimed, defeated. My voice was groggy but I looked more awake now. 'Oh yeah, I went outside when you were asleep to check the eclipse and it wasn't there, maybe we mistimed it.' She looked at me in silence for a while and said 'yeah, okay I won't panic we still have a full day' her mouth curved into a slight smile even though she was extremely worried. I stood up and walked towards the kitchen to make me and Bonnie breakfast. I took the flour out to make pancakes before briefly checking the newspaper that I must have read a thousand times. I only looked at it for a brief second but something looked different. I had to do a double take before I read the words 'may 11, 1994'
What the hell.
