Remus was absent. He was often absent in the past so she couldn't say she was particularly surprised. She had to admit she was bored though without a partner in Alchemy class to poke at a bit. She didn't know when it started but she had started to consider Remus as more than just a aquaintance, perhaps even a friend.

Another Marauder friend great, she couldn't help but remark sarcastically. Next thing you know she will end up all buddy buddy with Peter Pettigrew who she was pretty sure was scared of her. It was either that or he was really scared of Sirius's reaction towards him interacting with her. Putting more thought into it, she was certain it was a mixture of the two.

Still, who would have thought that she would make a new friend in her 6th year especially with the way the world was now. She supposed the rivalries and animosity seemed so trivial compared to the murders happening outside castle doors though. However many students in slytherin would end up joining the death eater ranks upon graduating so perhaps it wasn't purely trivial. Bellatrix who had always terrified her in all honesty with her cruelty and ruthlessless was out there using the cruciatus curse on everyone was already a proud death eater cursing and killing everyone which terrified her.

How was she supposed to be like that? It just wasn't in her nature. For godric's sake she wanted to a healer, that was the complete opposite of murder and violence in concept. She wanted to help people by healing their wounds and she did a good job at it too. She studied by herself and even volunteered to help Madam Pomfrey multiple times in the past for no reason other than curiousity. Madam Pomfrey in exchange had found a like minded student and she spoke of how she was always willing to write a letter of recommendation for her to St. Mungos once she graduated which had warmed Florence's heart tremendously. Florence never spoke of it, but she did like to fantasize about what it would be like to be a healer in St. Mungo's she had the grades and the subjects for it so it wasn't impossible thankfully if she somehow ever convinced her mother to take that job.

However she was aware of what her mother would say to her upon finding out her goal of working in a dingy hospital, wearing scrubs and working for other people and not having it the other way around.

" You are a Baudelaire, now act like one " That was her mother's go to catchphrase. ' You are a ( blank ), now act like one ' Whether it be a woman, or a Slytherin, she was always expecting things from her that she could not fulfil. She was never enough for her which left Florence feeling inadequate her entire life no matter how much support and love she got from her peers. She was no Walburga Black, but she was a foul mother as well, no doubt a death eater already if the fact that she had been frequently missing during the summer was anything to go by.

' Probably doing missions for him... ' She remarked bitterly as she flipped through her book not paying attention in class anymore, fully caught up with her personal life drama. She wished Remus was here to get her mind off it, but as she noticed earlier, he was still missing. It was too bad too, she wanted to tell him that she saw the full moon last night and ask if he saw it too. The moon and stars look so pretty at night especially at Hogwarts for some reason. Perhaps it was the ambiance of the place, but it just made the outdoor scenery more beautiful than in other places. She had never spent a Christmas in Hogwarts but she heard it got magical during that time of year and she bet it did.

She sighed to herself and stared down at the clock as if forcing it to move second by second until finally the bell rang and Florence jumped out of her seat, having already packed her things ready to leave and she was excited to go back to her dorm room and relax until her teacher brought up an assignment, but not just any assignment, pair work assignment. With your seatmate. She looked at the empty seat next to hers and sighed knowing she would have to get an extra copy of the worksheet and explain to Remus what they missed and their homework together.
