Standing perfectly still outside the great hall waiting for Remus to show up on the dot as he typically did, she was surprised to find that he was actually late for once and after 7 minutes, she considered going on her patrol herself until she heard rushed shuffling footsteps and was met with a panting Remus who looked slightly winded.

" Sorry- I- overslept- and "

She raised her hand to stop him and let him catch his breath and said.

" Let me guess, Black thought it would be funny to just let you sleep and miss the patrol and leave me hanging? "

Remus nodded and gave an apologetic smile to her.

" Wormtail and Pads  were ready to leave me sleeping, but luckily Prongs came back from Quidditch practise and woke me up "

She was silent for a moment trying to remember the Marauders stupid nicknames for each other and after finally deciphering what he said, made a mental note to thank James the next time she saw him and nodded at Remus.

" Its okay Lupin, Lets go, hopefully we get to dish out some detentions tonight, I've given Evan 3 detentions already and I think hes ready to throttle me at this point, keeps on lamenting about how I'm going to ruin his beautiful hands "

Remus chuckled hearing that finally calmed down and started to walk next to her in silence. While they did talk sometimes, they didn't always speak having difficulty finding topics since to her he was a person who was close to her enemy and to him she was a blood supremacist. If only he knew though... she was sure he would have a heart attack if he knew she was a blood traitor just like his friends.

Walking in silence for half an hour, she wondered if they would talk about anything this patrol since sometimes they would just be in silence the entire time until she remembered something she could talk to him about.

" Oh right I almost forgot, did James gives you the worksheet for alchemy "

He looked confused for a brief moment before he remembered and nodded.

" Yeah said we were paired up together right? "

" Yes, maybe we could go to the library tomorrow if you're free. "

Remus looked as if he was deep in thought thinking for a moment, no doubt trying to remember if he had some prank plans with the marauders tomorrow but finding that he had none he smiled at her and said.

" No, I'm free, want to head there directly together after transfiguration? "

" I think you forget that Black will be there in transfiguration "

As if just remembering his best friend's existence, he frowned. " Right... we can just meet in the library afterwards then after class "

She agreed with him and walked with him in relative silence until she finally gathered up the courage to say.

" Oh also uhm I don't know if Potter told you this, but I wished you well "

Rubbing the back of his neck, Remus seemed to look a bit shy.

" Oh, I thought he was just saying that to get the mickey out of me "

She fixed a loose strand of hair to distract herself from the sudden intimate conversation and said.

" No I know you get sick a lot so I wanted you to know I wished you well, thankfully you look good as new now "

Remus absent-mindedly traced the scars on his face and hummed, an awkward silence falling between them now.

She regretted opening her mouth now because she had cracked open a new layer in their relationship that she was not ready for, but she couldn't take back her words. Especially when it was the truth. Unfortunately they still had to patrol for at least another hour and Florence wondered what to do or say until she noticed a shadow in the corner trying to run away.
