By the time next week rolled around and it was time for the slug club Christmas party Florence's mother had already purchased a dress for her and sent it, sending her an expensive dark green dress that didn't clash with her hair which she appreciated. Her mother had made sure to write a letter detailing she did not want her to embarrass her and that she was representing her mother and her business when she went to these sort of events which was true.

As expected Regulus had asked another girl, the same girl from Ravenclaw he went on a Hogsmeade date with in fact as his date to the slug club party and she eagerly agreed. She had no idea she would be becoming a more permanent thing instead of a one time thing which fuelled a slight feeling of jealousy in her which she knew she had no right to feel.

She even forced herself to remember her name now that she was becoming a more stable thing in Regulus's life. Katherine Morrison was her name. Half blood which meant she was good enough to date but not good enough to bring home to his mother. She wondered that if Regulus fell in love would he care about that though.

Katherine had rightly deemed Florence a threat and was not the friendliest to her though she was civil. It wasn't like she could say there was nothing going to her to dispell her insecurities because it would a lie. It was a frustrating situation but one she would make do with as Regulus explored other dating opportunities.

" Why don't you try dating other people? "

When Evan had asked her that she came to the realisation that she hadn't even thought about dating other people. She always deemed it something useless in all honesty because she would be set up with a husband by her mother and the chances of her dating a pure blood her mother liked was slim with her limited choices.

She was glad she had male friends that she could go with as a date for that reason to parties and it wouldn't be weird. She had heard Lily was going with Remus as friends to the slug club so she supposed she would be seeing them there.

Putting her wand in her hair as a hairpin, she looked at herself in the mirror now that she was ready for the party and walked downstairs to see Francis waiting for her in the common room. Smiling at each other, he took her hand and kissed the back of it.

" You look beautiful Florence "

" You don't look bad yourself Francis "

She looked around the room to see not many people around and asked.

" Wheres Evan and Regulus "

" They're meeting us there, they have to pick up their dates "

She felt a slight annoyance at the idea of Regulus dating Katherine but ignored it and grabbing hold of his arm, they both exited walking in silence to the room the party was being held. She expected a lot of their time together would be spent in comfortable silence like most of their hang outs which she didn't mind.

Taking out her pocketwatch she noted it to be 7 pm and hoped she could reach back to her dorm room by 9 pm. The party could offer nothing to her after all other than meeting people that she knew already through her mother.

Reaching the entrance to the party they knocked and the door unlocked to reveal that the room was crowded with people talking and milling around, a few students walking around serving food and drinks and it generally looked like a normal fancy party that she attended during her school breaks.

" Ah Baudelaire! I finally see you at least in one of my club gatherings! "

She forced a pretty smile on her face before saying.

" Sorry about that Professor Slughorn, I'm here now "

" It is alright, just enjoy your time with Mr. Avery in the party, I think they are serving some non alcoholic drinks as well here "
