Florence

Walking up to Regulus, she took a seat next to him and he looked up most likely ready to tell the person to go away since he would find their breathing annoying, but stopped upon his dark eyes making contact with warm hazel. He looked stressed sitting by the great lake, well his face looked the same but she could tell from the slightly heavier dark bags and his hair that showed signs of being tousled, he was feeling the pressure of O.W.L.'s.

He gave a small smile and took her hand, his cold hands heating up greatly after making contact with the warmer girl.

" You're freezing Regulus "

" I always am Florence "

" No, I mean it this time you are freezing... you should come inside "

" If I go inside I have to deal with others in my personal space, I am fine out here "

She looked at him in concern before she dug through her bag and took our a bar of chocolate. He raised his eyebrows at the sight of chocolate in the hands of the pale thin girl.

" Since when do you eat chocolate "

" Since recently, now eat it, it'll warm you up I promise "

Looking at her with amusement in his eyes, he took a chunk out of the bar and started to chew in silence. In actuality, she had only started to keep chocolate in her bag because Remus had given her some in Alchemy class claiming that there was research done that says chocolate helps with intelligence. As good as that sounded, she was scared to eat too much of it in fear of weight gain but she was happy she could give it to Regulus. Apparently chocolate also made you happier so who knows, maybe this would make the younger Black brother smile more.

It was not often he smiled claiming there was little in life worth smiling about with his home life the way it is and the looming war, but she just wished he would stop being so negative. She was still there for him after all wasn't it? She knew he didn't mean it like that but it had stung knowing she wasn't enough to make him feel some positivity at least like he made her feel.

She remembered when she had admitted to him years ago when they were younger and more naive she dreamed of a love story like the one in fiction. Like Elizabeth and Darcy. He was confused when she said Elizabeth and Darcy and she explained to him that they both intellectually challenged each other and how they both loved each other so much they changed their own flaws instead of waiting for the other to step up.

Regulus had looked at her strangely when he said that and she distinctly remembered him saying.

" But why would you change for someone else if you're in the right "

That was how Regulus worked. In his mind, there was a person who was in the right and a person in the wrong and he saw no benefit in apologizing if he was in the right in his mind. Not even if it got the argument to stop. It was such an aggressively pigheaded mentality, she was amazed she liked a man like him. He was filled with pride and sometimes she was exhausted by it.

Feeling his thumb rub her knuckles soothingly though, she forced herself out of her thoughts and gave a soft smile at Regulus who had gone back to studying but was still holding her. It was rare he physically started skinship so he must seriously be bothered by O.W.L's.

" Now do you see why I was hanging out with you less last year? "

Scoffing at her, Regulus told her to shut up under his breath which made her laugh in all honesty.

" Do you need help with anything though? I'll gladly tutor you "

He rolled his eyes at her kindness and sarcastically said he was fine before continuing his studies leaving her bored as she stared at the great lake.
