"I want to know," he gripped Felix's hand tighter, desperately looking into his eyes. He wasn't sure how he felt, but he knew he had to know.
"Okay, help me up," Felix said again, raising his hand.
"Are you sure?? You can just rest. I'll run out there and look." Although he said he was fine, he was still overly worried about his condition.
"Please. I'm almost five months and Changbin insisted on bedrest after Yejun's birthday, so I want to move as much as possible before he won't let me." Felix sighed, probably for the millionth time. Pushing his arms out again for Han to help him, he softly laughed as he gently pulled him up, resting his other hand on his back.
"Thank you," he said, fully up, waddling over to the kitchen counter to grab the keys. The two walked down Hyunjin's unnecessarily long front yard—everything about his house was truly unnecessary. They walked to Felix's car, which was parked just a few spaces in front of Hans on the street. He clicked the alarm on the keychain, unlocking the door, and then pushed the trunk button to open it.
"Check the backseat," he told Han before walking over to the trunk to check his bag maybe. "We don't clean this car nearly as much as we should," he laughed, aware of the small clusters piled in the backseat.
"Yeah, now imagine with twins," Han laughed back, sifting through the pile, checking under the back and front seats and the pocket on the back of the seats. While Felix checked one of the bags he had in the car.
"I knew it," Felix said, pulling out the small box from one of the pockets. "I really bought way too many," he chuckled, thinking back to it. Showing the box to Han, whose face suddenly turned pale, his smile disappeared. "Hannie, you don't have to find out now."
"But Minho, I need to know for him," he said lowly, staring at the box in Felix's hand. He backed out of the car and walked around to Felix. "I have to know," he repeated, taking the box from his hands. Felix understood, pushing the trunk close and the button to lock the doors.
Han had a million thoughts going through his head—another baby. Sua was barely two. And Minho worked so much. How would he feel about another baby?? He kept his eyes on the box as they walked up to the house, not bothering to listen to whatever rant Felix was on this time.
It wasn't his fault, he was a mess. He felt like whatever the result was, his world would collapse. He wouldn't mind having another Sua, giving her a little sister or brother. A little boy this time. The thoughts made him feel fuzzy with excitement but quickly clouded with denial.
"Hannie," Felix called out to him, trying to shake him out of his thoughts. "Hannie, it's going to be okay. Whatever happens, it'll be okay," Felix softly said, wrapping his arms around his arms and hugging him tightly as they made their way back to the bathroom. Han went in while Felix waited outside for him. Constantly telling him that everything was going to be okay. Almost to the point that he started to believe it himself.
He sat the box on the counter, staring at it a little longer, observing the details of the box closely. He looked up to the mirror, taking a deep breath before picking up the box and opening it, carefully reading the instructions before following. He finished, capping the test and sitting back on the counter. Flushing the toilet, Felix's invitation to open the door before turning on the water. Felix immediately walked in to console him, gently rubbing his back.
"It says..." Han stopped to take a breath in between. This was genuinely affecting him in a way he couldn't quite explain. "...It says the results will show in less than a minute." He finished washing his hands, turning to dry them on the towel. He looks back at the test, nothing being shown. Fearfully turning it upside down, Felix walked fully into the bathroom, lowered the seat, and sat down on the toilet. He couldn't stand for that long.
"Do you want me to check??" Felix asked, grabbing his hand. He shook his head no as he threw his head back, his attempt to push back the tears that welled in his eyes.
"No, I'll look," he said, pulling his head back to Felix, who watched him with the softest expression. Gently brushing his fingers against his hand as Felix held tightly onto him. "God Felix, what if it's positive??" he said again in the most indescribable tone, bringing his other hand up to his heart, which he couldn't seem to calm.
"Then you'll have given Hyunjin another niece or nephew to spoil," he playfully joked, which seemed to lift his mood slightly. They all felt he loved them more than they did at times. He would truly do anything and everything for his babies.
"Okay," he readily said, holding onto Felix's hand. His support was the best part of this entire process. He grabbed the test, closing his eyes as he brought it up to his face. Hesitating as he slowly opened his eyes. His expression was again unreadable, but it definitely triggered the tears that threatened to fall—fastly falling down his cheek one after the other. It wasn't a surprise that he completely broke down, his knees giving up on him as he collapsed to the floor, dropping the test out of his hand. His loud sobs echoed through the long halls of Hyunjin's house. ~~
