Chanel P.O.V
"Stop" I yelled picking myself up off the ground before shoving the boy who had just made me eat dirt.
"Ha ha, look at you with all that dirt on your face. It makes you prettier" he said he poking me
"I said stop!" I said shoving him with more force than before causing him to fall back and scrape his elbow. He looked up with me with death in his eyes and sprung up from the ground, shoving me again causing us to engage in a full-blown brawl. We tumbled around the playground until the teachers' aides came and pryed is off each other, calming us down before escorting us to the Principles office.
"Channel?" I heard Trey say as he pulled me back to reality from my thoughts as he waved his hands in my face.
"Are you okay?" he asked as I cleared my throat
"Umm yea" I started "I was just daydreaming"
"About?" he asked as he folded another shirt and placed into the duffle bag.
"About those times when you used to bully me in grade school" I said as a smile formed in his face. Trey always used to pick on me as a kid and we always found ourselves taking numerous trips to Principle Carter's office at Petersburg Elementary School until our mothers couldn't take anymore and forced us to coexist. They forced us to have play dates and somehow we ended up becoming the best of friends.
"Well that was only cause I thought you were cute. But I had to keep picking on you cause I couldn't let everybody think a girl could beat me up the day you finally fought me back" he said laughing before placing his last shirt in the duffle bag and transfered it from the bed to the ground . I got on my hands and knees and crawled over to him and wrapped my hands around his neck as he stood back up and he snaked his around my waist. I looked into his big, beautiful brown eyes and another wave of sadness overcame me since I knew it would be a while before I could see them again
"Don't be doing all that" he said
"What?"
"Crying" I said before taking one hand and feeling around my face.
"I'm not" I said furrowing my eyesbrows and he kissed my nose.
"I know but your eyes are all glassy. I'm gonna be back soon ma, I promise."
"I know, I'm just really gonna miss you" I said as I twirled the ends of his braids around my fingers.
"I'm gonna miss you too baby." he said placing a kiss on my lips. "But I'll call you everyday and I'll be back to see you and you know you're welcome to come up there and see me"
"I know. I just.." I paused looking for the right words to say "it's gonna be so weird without you. I feel so alone without you."
"But you got plenty of friends baby."
"Yea, but they're not you" I said pouting.
"Why you gotta do all that? Now you're making me feel bad baby." he said lifting my bottom lip with his finger.
"I'm sorry Trey. That's not what I want. I'm sad and all but I want you to go. I want all your dreams to come true" Trey was leaving for New Jersey today. He recently took more interest in his singing career with our recent graduation from high school, and being hesitant to go to college, he decided to give music a shot. He had found a manager that believed in him and who offered to give him a place to stay while he pursued his music career. Though Trey was gone for most of the summers to do just that, it was different now. He wouldn't only be gone for the summer, he was really moving.
