"You okay?" Brittany asked as I sat in the cafeteria picking at my food.

"Yea." I said with a sigh

"No you're not, what's going on?" she asked pushing my plate away from in front of me. I put the fork down and looked at her.

"It's Trey"

"What about him? I thought you guys were good." she said furrowing her eyebrows.

"We were but things just aren't the same any more. I feel like we've lost touch. He rarely calls me, it's always an excuse when we video chat...I just...I don't know."

"Well maybe it's because you haven't seen him a while. You know he's working"she said trying to find something to make me feel better.

"I know but he was working all the other times he went to work with Troy and that never stopped him from calling and checking up on me all the time. I don't wanna seem insecure but it's hard. I barely see him, the least he could do is make the effort to talk to me. "

"Yea , I get what you're saying" she agreed "are you still flying out tonight?"

"Yea. I should probably get home and get my bags now." I got up from the bench throwing out my plate and she followed suit before we both walked to our cars. Brittany was my roommate here in LA. We both attended USC and over the past 5 months I've been here she's become a really great friend

"Alright, I'll drive you to the airport. Maybe when he sees you, things will be different. You said you're surprising him right?" she looked over at me and I nodded.

"Well I'm sure he'll love it" she said. "I'll see you back at the house" she said as she got into her car before pulling off. We had taken seperate cars to school because some days out schedules didn't run the same. She had classed at 7 today where as I only had one class at 11, there was no way I was waking up early just for a car pool. I got in my car and made my way back to our apartment. She was already there once I pulled up so I parked and went up to my apartment. I looked at my watch and sighed, I had two hours to get the airport and I knew I would have a to a bit of rushing. I used the bathroom really quick before grabbing my bags.

"Britt, you ready?" I yelled before she emerged from the kitchen

"Yea Nell, let's go." she said holding the door open for me before following me down the hall to the elevator.

About 30 minutes later I was in the airport going through security before making my way to the plane terminal. I felt my phone vibrating in my bag and fetched it from my purse to see Trey calling me. I laughed slightly about how I had been bashing him earlier for not calling me

"Hey" I said smiling as I took a seat at the terminal.

"Hey baby" he said as my smile grew wider.

"I missed you." he said with sleep in his voice

"I missed you too. You sound pretty tired though baby."

"I know, I am but, I just wanted to hear your voice. I wish I could see you" he said and I bit my lip knowing that I would be making that wish come true sooner than he thought.

"Me too babe. How soon will that be?" I asked trying to play along

"I don't know baby, Troy's really not generous with the free time. But I'm really gonna try and come out there for you soon." he said and I sighed. Even though I was going to see him, I was tired of getting the same answer for the past 7 months since the day he left.

"Baby, you okay?" he asked after I had been silent for a while.

"Yea, I'm fine. Its just..." I paused before speaking. I didn't wanna seem like I was nagging him or anything so I just decided not to say how I really felt. "It's nothing. I'm just happy you're working."
