It had been roughly 3 hours of non-stop fighting with the gang leader trying to get away from us. After a small car/foot chase we had finally gotten him tied to a chair in a large interview room, a single fluorescent light dangling above us, illuminating the clean, steel table and chairs, I sat across from the leader, his teeth gnashing at the air, trying to threaten me like a dog would, I didn't flinch

"We're not letting you go until you give us all the information we need." I say in a low growl, Kirk was leaning against the wall next to the locked door, smoking a cigarette, ready to beat the criminal's ass if he found a way to escape the chair.

The criminal grimaced, before speaking again in English; "Why should I tell you anything?"

I looked back at Kirk and nodded, he flipped a switch as, from the ceiling, a clear bucket of that same black goo from earlier lowers down above the leader

"Or we'll be forced to extract the information from you." I say in a serious tone. The man looks up and begins to sweat, he though for a minute then hesitantly obliged

"First of all, what's your name?"

"You call me Sir Draclaw."

"Yeah, forget the Sir part,"
"Next, who do you work for?" I had heard him say "Dragonclaw lives" but I wanted to be extra sure

"I work for the Dragonclaw clan, a-"

"Don't."

The criminal went silent after being interrupted.

"Next, exactly what illegal shit were you doing in that tech shop? And what was that giant, steaming hot device outside of it?"

"That's all your getting outa me, slut." he scoffed. I slapped him and he spat in my face again. At which point kirk stalked over.

"Can I take over here?" he asked in a grim voice. I nodded silently. He pulled out his pistol and fired it into Draclaw's knee with a huge grin. The gunshot – and scream – echoed for a moment. When the ring left my ears, kirk bent down and grabbed the man's knee. He started writhing in pain, yelling and crying. Pushing his thumb into the deep wound.

"I'll ask once. What were you doing."

The man tried one last attempted of bravery and bravado. "Go fuck yours-" he was cut off by a blood curdling scream. Kirk had actually torn the man's kneecap off! A spray of blood covered kirks face. He leaned in close, so close that Draclaw could feel the spittle from his words, he spat a blob of blood and spit onto Draclaw's face and spoke. "Lucky for you, I'm feeling generous today. What. Were. You. Doing?"

"Kirk, don't you think you're being a little violent?" I ask with little concern in my voice. He looked at me with dead eyes. Not taking any joy from this but not even questioning his methods as inhumane.

The man spoke with a quivering lip and gave us everything. He told us that the device was a GDEMP – Global destruction electromagnetic pulse - Kirk patted him on the cheek and shot him in the head with a 12-guage. His brain matter and blood stained the wall behind. I jumped back at the gunshot, practically falling off my chair. I looked at Kirk and scowled
"Could've made that much less violent." I muttered with a squint
"Could've easily gotten more info from him without, all of that." I continued.

The night was, Odd to say the least. I shot up from my bed, sweating slightly and panting, I managed not to wake anyone up, except Kirk, who always stays up late doing whatever he does. I took off my sleeping mask as I glanced around the dark room, the single bathroom light illuminating my side of the long room, I quietly yawn as I whisper to kirk, trying to be as quiet as possible; "What are you doing in there?" My voice was a lot raspier than I had imagined, somehow this always came as a surprise, my voice was always very dull in the morning. Kirk had hidden behind one of the walls to the side of the door and leaned back to peek out.

"What are you doing awake at 2:00 in the morning?" He asked

"Nightmares."

"Makes sense I guess."

"What are you doing in there though?"

"Same damn thing." he replied.

"Yeah but you never go to the bathroom, You normally go to the cafeteria or lounge for some quiet time or food, not the bathroom"

"Look, last night was stressful."

"I get that." I nod gently

I tossed the cover off of myself and headed to the bathroom. Kirk scrambled to put on a shirt.
"Kirk, if you think I'm gonna get all simp-y or horny over you because you have muscles, forget it." I acknowledged him scurrying to get something on. His body was covered in scars and tattoos – more scars though.

"You can relax, its nothing I haven't seen before." I toyed, followed by a raspy, broken giggle, and a cough, nothing unusual. I just shouldn't be trying to giggle at 2 in the morning, Kirk knew this. "So... You never really explained how you lost Sarah, would you be alright with doing so? Or is that a topic you'd rather not get into?" I ask, trying not to push the truth out or anything He looked into the mirror and spoke softly. "Do you remember the synth wars?"
