It was pitch black, but not for long, Prima found the switch and pulled it down as rows of fluorescent lights turned on with a boom as we looked around. Greeting us was an absolutely enormous room in front of a balcony with a control panel, down on two separate platforms connected to the balcony with metal stairs, these platforms have one large cryogenic hibernation capsule on each and some more useless junk along with the capsules, Prima walked to the console on the middle platform as I and Kirk walk to the capsules and get in them.

"So what exactly are these capsules gonna do to us?" Kirk asked

Prima flipped a few switches and pressed a few buttons before resting her hand on a large switch "Essentially, they're gonna turn you two into me, as in, you'll be half-human, half-animal-of-your-choice."

"And why exactly do you need to do that?"

"It will massively increase your durability, energy, flexibility, dexterity, and so much more, meaning not only will it take longer for NX-5 to consume you, but will also make it harder for it to do so, don't get me wrong, it's still gonna hurt when it touches you, but it won't immediately consume you like it did to your comrades."
"And paired with that drug of yours, Kirk, you will be unstoppable."
"However, I must warn you two, once the process starts, you cannot stop it or undo it when finished, so say goodbye to your enhanced selves and say hello to your even more enhanced selves."
"Are you ready?"

I and Kirk look at each other through the glass tubes and nod at each other, as Prima nods after us, pushing the lever she was holding forwards, an odd, yet nice smell floods the chambers, after a few seconds, I look down to see my skirt tear from my waist and a tail burst out, ripping right through, it was a white-furred, feline-like tail, while kirk surprisingly didn't have anything, I reacted quickly and grabbed the sides of the waist part of my skirt to not have it fall off and reveal me. I didn't hear it, but suddenly, ears seemed to pop out of our heads, mine, once again, being white cat ears and kirk once again not having anything.

Following this, my lower arms, lower legs, feet, and hands sprout fur rapidly, hands morphing into paws, once again matching the scheme with my tails and ears.

After a device scans us head to toe, Prima looks at 2 holographic screens, and nods "Conversion successful." She said looking confused.

"But you don't look different?" she pointed at kirk. "You should have changed your appearance like Noell did. But it appears only your skeletal structure has changed."

"But I accounted for the serum? Why didn't it work!"

"Mine or hers?" kirk asked.

"My version of the serum or hers. Mine was a prototype, it was more potent than hers."

"Well shit that explains it."

She pressed a button and the tube's doors open, and we step out, we walk back up the stairs and to Prima, holding my torn clothes from falling off

"You got spares?" Kirk chuckled looking at me.

Prima nodded "Wait here."

Prima came back minutes later with exact matches of my old clothes, I snatched them out of her hands and put them on quickly, doing my best not to reveal myself, these clothes had a hole in the back allowing my tail to fit through, the hole being the perfect size for my tail.

"Feels weird, I pretty much have an extra limb now." I say, already able to control my newfound tail

"You sure this isn't gonna be dangerous to us?" Kirk asked
"I mean, changing the makeup of our bodies doesn't feel so safe."

"I can assure you, If I've been through it and only improved in life, you won't be so much more different." Prima responded without hesitation

"Alright then." I reply as I feel the fur on my arms, shivering from how soft they are - a little too soft for me.

"So, what exactly happened to me?" kirk asked. Prima scratched her head.

She glanced at the console to see the altered structure of Kirk's bones on a screen. "Well, it looks like your skeletal structure changed to match the monkey DNA I gave you, but your version of the serum fought off the other changes like they were a virus, almost as if your immune system is much stronger to it."
