I woke up with a splitting headache, the night sucked, mainly due to my worry of Luna, and Kirk playing fucking death metal on 11, but I still got sleep. Getting Luna back to base had been hellish due to the military roadblock that stopped us. Kirk had torn through the soldiers manning it while I took care of Luna. He was a damn wrecking machine. It worried me sometimes how little remorse or just general emotion he showed during missions.

And then the first thing I'm greeted with is a light coming from the cafeteria into the sleeping room, I sat up, still in my pajamas, as I got out of bed and made my way to the Cafeteria, on the other side of the room, I saw Prima, hacking away at a laptop, I walk to prima and sit next to her, tail wrapped around myself for more warmth.

"What are you doing, Prima?"

Prima noticed me and turned

"Searching up this weird organization running that military camp, I can barely find anything"

I think for a moment
"Have you tried disabling hidden websites?"

"How do I do that?"

"Here, let me do it, just requires a little bit of hacking."
I pull the laptop to myself as I hack away, the page reloaded as it showed about thrice as many results, I push the laptop back to Prima as she searches more.

"Here!" she exclaimed. She tiled the screen towards me, and I saw an article about a general Fallen taking over certain military operations earlier this year. It also read that they were stationed in Falken military command center in Iowa.

"Keep digging. I'm gonna go get kirk!" I said as I scrambled to my feet and took off to Kirk's room. I got to the door and slammed on the heavy steel. "Hey lemme in! We got a breakthrough!"

No response.

"Kirk!?" I sighed and punched in the override code. The door slid open, and the room was pitch black, the only light coming from the small bathroom, smoke filling the small quarters. I cautiously walked towards the bathroom. "Kirk?" I said again.

"What!?" he yelled back. I felt a flood of releif and walked in. He was sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall. He had his shirt off and what looked like an entire pack of cigarettes on the floor, and a half empty bottle of vodka. That was normal for him though – as we were immune to the harming effects of nickeline and tobacco, along with most other drugs – but what was weird was his veins. They were dark and bulging.

"What the fucking shit." I breathed. Putting my paw over my mouth.

"Doctor, now." I pointed out the door.

"They can't do anything." he laughed, taking a swing of vodka. "Its NX-5. It leaves a virus that destroys your body. These cigarettes have medicine in them to stop my heart and lungs from giving out." He lit another and took a deep breath. "And it hides the taste."

"And the vodka?"

"Is just vodka. We can drink as much as we want. We can't get drunk." He threw the bottle into the glass shower. He grabbed the sink and stood up with a slight grunt. "what'd you want?"

"We think we know where Fallen is hiding."

"Then let's go." he said walking past me.

"No, you're not coming, not like this." I said, grabbing his shoulder.
"I'm not gonna let you hurt yourself anymore."

"But you'll need me!" He exclaimed

"No, Kirk, I won't."

"Ugh, you're just like an overprotective mum, Kirk, don't you fucking realize that I can deal with shit myself?!" I bark, I don't yell though
"Not only do I have the skill, but I know what I'm doing."

He sat on the bed and put his head in his hands. "It's not that. I know you can do things by yourself. But I lost everyone I knew during the synth wars. I lost all my friends and Sarah, I can't lose anyone else."

"I understand, but if I have to sacrifice myself to save the planet, I'd do it in a heartbeat, that's what we the company hired you guys for, saving the planet under any circumstance."
"Whether it be a giant, round ship filled with cubes abducting chunks of land, which sounds crazy, but it could happen, to some random millionaire trying to consume everyone with some black nanotech-ass goo, we're here to fight, but even then, there are times where some of us need a break. And I think right now is yours." I say as I turn to leave the room. He grabbed my arm and said snarled. "I don't need a fucking break, I need revenge. For the people that fucker killed. I'm dying anyways, the least he can do is bring me that gift faster. I'm, going."

I close my eyes as I exhale
"No, Kirk, you're not."
"Stay here, get rest, we'll take care of it. Sorry."

I leave the room before Kirk gets to respond.

Not minutes later, several armored, futuristic vehicles were driving down the road, a lot of us were going since we knew this Fallen guy was gonna put up a fight, there were about 5 vehicles with 15 or so people in each one, each vehicle from different factions, I was driving the Wasp one

"So what's the plan, exactly?" Prima asked, being the one sitting in the front passenger seat

"The usual mayhem and carnage" I replied.
"I'll run you all over the basics and details when we get there."

"2 are going to enter front from the north, 1 at the east, south and west. Well swarm in on the main building and flank them."

"And we need 75 or more people for that?" Aaron said from the vehicle to my left, being the passenger in the Viper vehicle.

"We have no clue how much weaponry and armory this guy has, he's super anonymous. We gotta make sure we're ready." I say, not taking my eyes off the road.

Aaron barked a laugh "Alright kitty girl, just don't go cryin' when he ends up having a million of those kangaroo robots all waiting for us at the front entrance." He said, clearly joking around/mocking me, the smirk he had made it much more obvious.

"So umm... where's kirk?" Prima asked.

I keep my reply very discrete "He's getting some much-needed sleep."

She glared at me. "Alright. Shouldn't we have one of the top agents with us though. And he was so intent of getting fallen."

"He's just sitting this one out, alright?" I reply, trying my best not to begin death-gripping the steering wheel. "Nothing to worry about, you have the literal co-founder of the organization with you, we'll be fine." I say pointing to myself "Besides, if the building lights up in flames and begins to collapse, He's the last person I'm gonna let die in that." I add. Prima thinks before changing the subject "Hey, I don't think anyone asked, why do you have such... Anime girl-like proportions" My pupils shrink as I speed the vehicle up, not saying a word and beginning to grip the wheel harder. Prima worriedly shuts up
