-Harry Potter-

Harry was arguably the person most affected by the war, and in its wake he really struggles. He lost so many people and be doesn't know how to live without a constant fear of the people he loves being taken from him. You struggle after the war too, everyone involved did, but you knew Harry needed your help so you tried to minimize your own problems to help him through the nightmares and anxiety, staying up all night to make sure he sleeps well, not that you'd be able to fall asleep if you wanted to, because of your neglect of sleep, you usually fell asleep at some point in the late afternoon for a few hours but Harry hadn't noticed the consistency of it, he only caught you napping a few times the past few weeks. He came home to find you fast asleep and didn't wake you, instead starting to make dinner for you both, he heard you start to stir but didn't think much of it until you were thrashing around and crying out in your sleep. He rushed over to you, gently waking you up and reassuring you."Hey, 'm right here, y/n. You're safe, it was just a dream." Once you calmed down, you immediately started to pretend that you're perfectly fine again but he saw through it this time. "How long has this been going on?" He whispered, pulling you close to him, you shrugged and he sighed heavily. "I get them too, you know that better than anyone. It's nothing to be embarrassed about, and I've been selfish thinking I'm the only one struggling right now. We all are, and you deserve to be listened to and cared for as much as anyone else. Even more so, if you asked me, so I'll ask you again, love. How long has this been going on?" Once you started to open up, he listened so intently to you and rubbed your back as you spoke, slightly rocking the two of you back and forth. He felt so awful for not realizing you were struggling too, and be realized helping you process your own trauma was helping him cope as well.

-Ron Weasley-

Ron didn't like to admit that he was struggling. As Harry's best friend, he never got a break from the thick of the war and he didn't know how he was meant to live without it looming over him. Rather than work on his own issues at all, he focused on making you feel better. He helped his family and his friends. Anyone but himself. You were having a particularly rough day, and Ron clearly was too. He was more irritable than usual and the only thing holding him together was the fact that he knew he had to be there for you if you needed him. Once you both returned home from your days, you snuggled in bed together, exhausted and in need of sleep. Out of nowhere, the boy beside you started to sniffle, which escalated to full on sobs and tears. You looked at him in alarm, grabbing a box of tissues and asking what was wrong. You received no response, and waited with him until he could speak again, playing with his hair and rubbing his arm gently. "Sorry," he mumbled after he started to compose himself. "I guess 'm just sad, is all? How are you though, don't think I asked when you got home?" You chuckled sadly. "You did ask, I had a rough day too, love, there's no shame in it. Can you tell me what's been on your mind?" Slowly, in an almost calculated way. He began to open up to you. After a few sentences, his feelings began to pour uncontrollably from his lips, and the tears started up again. You held him close and listened, nodding along and wiping tears away from his cheeks with your thumb before they ran into his mouth as he spoke. Seeing him like that made you choke up a bit, and whether he noticed or not he seemed to pull you closer when you did. After that, he's more open to sharing his feelings with you and comforting each other becomes a two way thing, rather than one sided situation Ron forced it to become before he could handle his own trauma.
