YOU APPROACHED A WHITE BUILDING. it looked like some sort of modern temple. you put out your cigarette and made your way towards the entrance. you pushed one of the doors, peeking inside. nobody was there.
you still decided to head inside. you stood there, shoving your hands into your pockets. "yo!" you called out as your curse pulled at your hoodie. you looked down at the card. 'was it just a scam? maybe i shouldn't just trust random cards that hit my face' you thought to yourself.
the doors opened, making you turn around. your face went pale as you noticed who just arrived. he seemed just as shocked at first. however, he quickly regained his composure and walked past you. "this is an unexpected surprise. 11 years have gone by since we last spoke" he said, taking a seat.
"yeah, it has..are you still going through with those plans, suguru?" you asked. "yes, i am. satoru didn't happen to send you here to kill me, right?" suguru replied, leaning on his hand. "no, i haven't talked to satoru in years. i left jujutsu high, so i'm not a sorcerer anymore" you explained.
suguru chuckled. "is that so? even after all that talk from back when we were teens?" he teased. "i was an idiot back then. thinking that risking my life for strangers was the best i could do..i understood what you were talking about" you told him. he stood from his seat and made his way over to you. "you've matured greatly, n/n" he spoke, a smile on his face.
his presence was almost intimidating. "i'm 26, suguru. it's natural that i don't think like i used to." it felt like a weight was suddenly lifted off of your shoulder. "i suppose you're right" he said as he now held the curse, now forced into a ball, in his hand.
suguru began to walk off. "you coming?" he asked, stopping to turn back to you. you stared at his expression, trying to read it. you couldn't sense any hostility from him, but your guard was still up. let's not forget, this was the person who killed 112 people at the age of 16.
you followed suguru through the halls. "how've you been these past years, n/n?" "shitty" you quickly replied. "i've lost interest in anything and everything. i find myself not giving a shit anymore" you explained. "that explains the immense cursed energy you're giving off" "it's also the only reason why i don't mind speaking to you. had i cared, i'd either convince you to reconsider your choices or simply kill you."
"you know that neither of those would've worked. your technique isn't anywhere as strong as mine, and i'd end up killing your sheep" suguru said, looking at you. he noticed the deep eyebags and your lazy choice of clothing. "have you slept at all recently?" he asked. you shook your head. "either my technique keeps me awake or my thoughts do" you briefed. suguru hummed in response. "why not sleep now then? you can use my bed" he generously spoke, sounding more like a request than an offer.
"just because i said i don't care doesn't mean that i'm going to sleep in my ex's bed" you replied. suguru wrapped an arm around your shoulder, an innocent smile on his face. "i wasn't asking, n/n." he pressed two fingers against your forehead, causing you to go unconscious. he lifted you up bridal style and carried you to his room.
"hey, manami." suguru called over the pink-haired woman as he walked. "would you mind getting us some ramen?" he asked. she looked down at you, nodding. "oh, and make sure nobody disturbs us. any issues can wait until later" "yes geto" manami replied. "thank you, appreciate it." suguru continued walking until eventually reached his room. he slid open the door with his foot, setting you down onto the bed. he then closed the door and took a seat on the edge of the bed.
despite everything that's happened before and how long it's been, he always found himself caring for you. it was a habit that he never got rid of, and he didn't regret it. suguru always thought that he'd end up caring for you again, whether it be like this or you were on the opposing side and needed attention.
he examined your form. aside from your eyebags, your skin seemed paler. he noticed that your eyes seemed duller and lacked any color or spark. you've also clearly lost weight, an unhealthy amount, no doubt. he was thankful that he had asked for food, since it was clear that you haven't been taking care of yourself.
