"EMERGE FROM DARKNESS, BLACKER STILL. purify that which is impure" suguru recited. a white veil was drawn over the jujutsu high campus soon after.
an anxious feeling took over your body. were you really meant to be here? "don't look so nervous, n/n. this'll be over quickly!" you looked over at suguru, who had a crazed expression on his face.
"isn't yuta okkotsu just a child..?" you asked, your older morals coming in to play. "yes, but i really tried to be peaceful. he declined my offer, and now this is the only way we can get what we want" he explained.
"the only thing i want you to do handle anything that could happen if the plan goes awry. have some fun with it, use your technique!" he added as he placed a hand on your shoulder.
you found no comfort in this action, but nodded anyways. the two of you hopped down from the roof. however, a girl popped up, a polearm in hand.
"what're you doing here?" suguru asked, an annoyed expression on his face. you had quickly hidden so that you wouldn't be seen. "is it a problem that i am?" maki asked in response. by the looks over it, she was a student at jujutsu high.
"the real question is, what are YOU doing here?" she aimed the blade of the weapon towards suguru, who had no reaction. a grin grew onto his face as he summoned a few curses. he took a glance towards you before looking back at her.
"i apologize that you have to see this side of me, but i don't have time to talk with monkeys. i'm sure you understand, my love" suguru spoke. maki spotted you; however, she was brutally beaten by suguru with ease.
your eyes widened. was that necessary? you couldn't sense much cursed energy from her, so she was practically defenseless! did he kill her..?
suguru cracked his neck before turning to you. "i didn't scare you, did i? i know how sensitive you can be sometimes" he teased, his grin now replaced with a soft smile. the way he could just smile after doing such a thing..
if looks could kill, you'd most certainly be a corpse. even when he was smiling so innocently, a feeling of fear and uneasiness struck you. you once again found yourself in a position similar to when you found him in shinjuku all those years ago.
while you were busy in your own thoughts, suguru was confused as to why he didn't get a reply. he approached you, lightly grabbing onto your face and forcing you to look at him.
your face showed fear. "are you getting cold feet, my love?" suguru asked. without even waiting for your answer, he continued to talk.
"this is a binding vow, y/n. nobody knows what happens when you break it, hence why those involved follow the terms down to the letter. if you want to leave, don't let me stop you. just know that you can't run from your problems forever. they will catch up to you, and you'll end up regretting it in the long run."
his tone was serious, unlike the soft tone he usually has with you. you hated him. you were an idiot to cling to him like you have. however, you couldn't say that he was wrong. if you walked off right now, who knows what your punishment will be? you would rather atone for your sins the proper way.
suguru then let go of your face, looking up at the veil. "someone made a hole in the veil" he spoke, walking away from you. "these things never go as planned.."
he stepped over the girl's unconscious body, obviously showing no care for it. "it'll take them about five minutes to get to us. it's best that you prepare, n/n." his words almost sounded like a threat.
you decided not to speak to him anymore. you glanced up at the veil, seeing the hole.
you released a sigh as you readied yourself. you would play along for now, then pay for your crimes later.
