YOU SAT UP IN BED. you were confused as to how you even got into it; either you finally passed out or you were knocked out. regardless, you felt a bit more awake now. the doors to the room slid open, revealing suguru with a steaming cup ramen and chopsticks.

"ah, you're awake. did you sleep well?" he asked as he approached you. "it was..fine" you replied, glancing at the ramen and look back to suguru. he noticed this, his innocent smile gracing his features once more. "don't say that you're not hungry, n/n. i can tell you are" he spoke. you only hummed. it was clear that he could still read you so easily.

suguru sat on the bed next to you, picking up some noodles with the chopsticks. he brought it to your mouth. you instinctively opened it, eating the noodles. "you know..i never stopped thinking about you, n/n" suguru admitted. "you're the best that's ever happened to me, and it's a shame how everything turned out" he added, feeding you more noodles.

"and it seems that we're both missing something. you're missing a purpose in life and i could use another member on my side. we can help each other out here, don't you think?" you were skeptical. "i'm not killing anybody, suguru" "of course not! i wouldn't want you getting those hands dirty.." he said, setting down the ramen and grabbing one of your hands. suguru then placed a gentle kiss upon your knuckles. "however, your technique will be needed.."

he rubbed small circles onto the back of your hand with his thumb. "your technique can be great at both far and close range. plus, given the amount of pent-up cursed energy you have inside of you, your technique could be even greater" suguru explained.

"what exactly are you saying..?" "i'm saying..you could be the solution to this world's problems. you could be the answer to this equation i've created." suguru intertwined his fingers with yours. "you said that you understood what i was talking about, surely you'll agree to help me now, right?" you looked into suguru's eyes. he looked desperate, practically begging for your help with his scheme.

you didn't have anything else going in your life. you were lonely and had no purpose or goals you wanted to achieve. however, if you helped with this, you'll have something to do. you'd have a goal that you wanted to reach. you'd most likely meet more people too. you sighed. "..fine. i'll help under the condition that i won't have to kill anyone" you told him. suguru smiled. "i suppose we could make this a bit more official..a binding vow should suffice. you will help me in any way i see fit. that's my condition" he said.

you nodded as he held his hand out. "it's a deal then, right?" "..yeah." you shook his hand, cursed energy surrounded both hands. a grin appeared on his lips as the binding vow was formed.

"great. now, you keep eating and make sure to get some more sleep" suguru stood from his spot on the bed, handing the ramen to you. "i have some business to take care off. i'll return to you soon." you nodded, eating more of the ramen.

before leaving the room, he stared at you for a moment, admiring you. "welcome to the family, n/n" he said before finally leaving, closing the door behind him. you sighed as you set down the ramen, laying on the bed.

were you..making the right choice? you wondered as you stared up at the ceiling. he was a curse user, a murderer..most would see him as evil.

"you'd go on thinking that this entire incident was your fault, am i right? you'll blame yourself for how i turned out, how WE turned out."

suguru's words rang in your head. did you accept because you blamed yourself? did you feel like you owed him something? did you feel bad for rejecting his initial offer? you sighed. here you thought that dumb teenager had finally grown up..
