YOU SAT ON A BALCONY, staring off into the distance as you reflected on yourself.
why exactly did you choose to be here? why help the same person who abandoned you and your friends when you were teenagers? the same person who cursed 112 people to death? shouldn't you go off to help satoru and shoko instead?
you looked down at your hands as if something was written on them. the entire argument replayed in your head, causing feelings to swirl around in your body. you almost felt nauseous.
the door slid open, revealing suguru. "admiring the view, n/n?" he asked with a smile. "do you need something?" you asked as you turned to him. "just letting you know that we're heading to jujutsu high soon" he replied.
you tensed up. "now now, you won't be coming, my love. i know how you feel about the school. it shouldn't take us too long to do what we need to do" suguru explained. "make sure to eat and drink water-" "suguru."
he stopped in his tracks and looked at you. "yes?" he replied. "you know me like you know the back of your hand..tell me, why am i here with you right now, despite everything that's happened?" you asked, staring down at your lap.
suguru seemed surprised at the question, humming in thought to find a suitable answer. "to be frank, you dwell on your past. it clearly has taken its control on you, which brought you back to me. consider it fate" he explained.
you were silent. he wasn't wrong in the slightest, not like you expected him to be anyways. "i see it as a blessing. i get to rekindle my relationship with the one person i truly love" he added, a smile on his face as he looked down at you.
you went back to looking over the balcony, letting his words sink in. "..right." your hands gripped onto the railing as you furrowed your eyebrows in thought.
suguru showed a look of concern. he walked towards you and wrapped his arms around you from behind. "no need to overcomplicate things, my dear..you're with people who love you..you won't be alone ever again..you're part of the family" he spoke, resting his head on your shoulder.
you didn't say anything. instead, you simply looked down. "MR. GETO~! if we don't leave now, the crepe shop will closeee!" suguru turned towards the teenage girl. "apologies, nanako" he said, turning to you again. "she just has to get her favorite crepes" he told you.
suguru pulled away. "take care of yourself while i'm gone, okay?" you instinctively nodded. after that, he left with nanako and the others.
you let out a quiet sigh as you pulled a cigarette from the pack. you placed it onto your lips and lit it. you took a puff, blowing the smoke out into the air.
fragments of past memories clouded your mind. you were doing the right thing. he cared about you just like he did back then. it was your fault that everything turned out like it did. maybe if you hadn't fucked up..
you simply shook your head, trying to get rid of those thoughts. you made your way to suguru's room and decided to take a nap. you flopped onto the bed, the comfort of the blankets making you fall asleep almost instantly.
///
you stood besides suguru, riko standing in front of you.
"let's go home, riko.." suguru spoke, smiling as he held his hand out to her. everything went in slow motion as riko was shot through the head.
you quickly turned to toji, a scowl visible. "you son of a-!" "y/n." you turned to suguru. "you're worthless..both riko and satoru's blood are on your hands..you didn't even try to protect them..what's the point of all this training if you aren't going to put it to use?" he spoke.
you were speechless. "do you really have nothing to say?" suguru added as he fully turned to face you. his face showed a tired and traumatized expression.
"s-suguru..i..i'm sorry..! i didn't mean for this.." your voice trailed off as you realized that the scene had changed.
you were at a village, where a large blue fire burned. screams of the people filled your ears. you noticed suguru at your side, using one of his curses to burn down the village.
you wanted to move. you wanted to ask what he was doing. you wanted to stop him. but..you didn't have the strength to.
"y/n." a new voice called out to you, making you turn around. you stood on the sidewalk in a crowd of people. satoru stood at a distance.
"s-satoru..?" "i just don't understand..how could you?!" he shouted. he then lifted his head up, revealing the tears flowing down his face.
your eyes widened as you looked down at your hands, seeing them covered in blood. you looked back up to satoru.
he took a breath before holding up his index and middle fingers. "cursed technique reversal.." he recited. the crowd was suddenly gone, leaving only you and satoru.
"red." all you saw was a flash of red before everything went dark.
