Yeonjun was more than glad when the university day was over, bothered by the constant whispers behind his back discussing his whereabouts in the previous week.

Why can't they just mind their own damn business. 

Once the final bell rang, he scurried out of the university to the nearest bus station, and drove a couple kilometers away in Seoul's center.

Yeonjun paused the music playing in his headphones as he pressed the button for the bus to stop, signaling to the driver he was getting out.

He exited the bus, and walked a few steps to the clean glass door that welcomed anyone and everyone, above and beyond, to Pets' Paradise. 

Yeonjun walked inside the warmly lit room, and waved at the owner upon spotting him behind the counter, looking for something through a drawer.

"Hello Yoongi hyung!" he cheerfully greeted him.

"Hey Yeonjun!"

Yoongi, pofessionally known as Doctor Min Yoongi, is the owner of Seoul's most beloved pet shelter, and no, Yeonjun wasn't making it up.

Just look at the ratings, as he would say. 

Usually, pet shelters are stereotyped as places of torture and bad conditions, but people keep mixing that up with the pound.

And if most pet shelters were indeed like that, then they are completely mistaken with this one for sure.

Yoongi took his time making this as nice as possible, and it was indeed a wonderful place for both animals and humans.

Never mind the fact humans are also animals, just... more tamed.

Anyway. 

The shelter smelled like natural vanilla, not a drop of processed oils in sight, it was clean (well, except for the animal pens at the moment) and spacious, there was quiet music always playing in the background, and best of all, volunteers and workers are always free to sign up to help him around; Yoongi pays very well.

Not to mention he was extremely nice to just about anyone. He was the closest Yeonjun could have to an uncle, or even, father figure.

"Yeonjun, since I'm a bit caught up at the moment with adoption documents, can you please check up on Mimi? He's been acting a little strange the whole morning, and a possible owner is planning to visit today," Yoongi said.

Yeonjun nodded with a polite kind smile.

"Of course, where is he?"

"Come with me."

The college student followed Yoongi to the corner of the pet shelter's back room, where an entire section of cocker spaniels was. They were the most common breed to be dropped off here for some strange reason.

And in the center was the smallest of the bunch, coughing up its guts.

"Oh boy."

"He's sick, but despite my efforts, I can't figure out what's wrong," Yoongi said,

"I'll handle it."

Yeonjun carefully lifted the small pup off the ground, and brought him over to the medical wing of the shelter. He grabbed a stethoscope from one of the cabinets, plugged it on and checked his heartbeat, before moving down to his tummy area.

After a while, he nodded, and took the stephoscope nubs out.

"Just slight food poisoning, nothing too bad. I'll ask the medical school for some medication, and I'll try to bring it over by this evening," he said.
