🎶: 'everyday we fight' by DAY6

Yeonjun was surprised at himself that he had calmed down while he was talking, and wasn't in tears right now.

Sure, he was feeling a bit troubled, as this topic was nowhere near easy to talk about, but strangely, he was rather calm.

And he had no idea why that was the case.

Beomgyu meanwhile was trying to grasp everything Yeonjun just revealed to him, wanting to connect all kinds of dots.

So Yeonjun's father passed away in a fire, and since then everything fell apart for him, and he might've changed in the process too? God.

"I'm sorry," Beomgyu said.

Yeonjun glanced at him, his pupils piqued with surprise.

"You're what?"

"I'm so sorry for your loss Yeonjun. What, did you expect that I won't feel sorry?"

"Maybe."

Beomgyu let out an exasperated sigh.

Of course you would think that.

"I know you don't like me, but I don't get why you would think I have no morality. You lost someone important to you Yeonjun, and you deserve that someone shares their sympathy to you."

Yeonjun was next to sigh.

"I did have someone..."

"It was Soobin, wasn't it?"

"Yeah."

Beomgyu looked at the ground, pursing his lips, debating what to say.

"I'm sorry that you can't see him. Now that I see why that hurt you so much, being apart from him, I wish there was a way to turn back time and let your relationship stay. I must have ruined everything for you, right?"

Yes, you ruined everything for me.

"It wasn't your fault," Yeonjun said.

Beomgyu stared at him in disbelief, and Yeonjun himself couldn't believe that these words came out of his mouth.

But that felt so much more like the truth.

Because at the end of the day, Beomgyu also didn't want to be in an arranged marriage, let alone with someone who was already happily dating somebody else. He tried to call this contract off, but sadly to no avail.

If their parents didn't cut in, they wouldn't be here.

But then Yeonjun wondered.

Would it have been more painful to talk about this if it wasn't Beomgyu? I always cry whenever I talk about it with Soobin or someone else, but right now... I don't feel any pain.

"What do you mean it's not my fault?" Beomgyu questioned.

"I..."

Yeonjun sighed again.

"I don't think that this is your fault because you had no control over what happened. I doubt that you knew you'd get engaged to me by force, and that it came as a surprise to you as well."

"Yeah. It definitely was."

'Because it was you' hung in the air. But neither of them said those words, because they somehow knew what they would say.

And there it was.

The elephant in the room.

"Why do you dislike me so much Yeonjun?" Beomgyu questioned.
