His brain didn't listen.

But his feet moved.

They moved him and made him run out of the school campus, sending a quick message to Brian to pick him up, and then to Yeonjun to let him know where he was going.

His thoughts were driving him crazy as he waited.

"The deal is off."

Beomgyu nearly dropped his phone, as well as the chocolate brownie in his hand as he heard those four words over the caller line.

Shock completely crippled his soul, and he could barely utter the next word.

"What?"

"Beomgyu... come over to us. We have... some important things to discuss."

And before he could reply, she already hung up.

"What does Mom fucking mean with 'the deal is off'?" Beomgyu muttered, confused and worried.

Brian finally arrived, and the red haired model jumped into the backseat.

"Beomgyu, what happened?" Brian asked.

"My parents are asking me to come over; drive to Brambolia Headquarters, I think they want me to meet them there."

"Okay, got it."

Brian started the engine, and he stepped on the gas.

The car started roaring down the street, still driving under speed limit, towards the headquarters building.

Beomgyu's heart was hammering against his chest.

He wasn't sure what was scaring him more.

Knowing the truth as to why this deal is off, or knowing the truth as to why Aera sounded like she was crying behind the call.

Whatever was going on, something was very wrong.

Brian arrived in front of the building, and Beomgyu nearly tore the car door off getting out. He ran into the building, and into the lobby that was strangely so empty.

At that moment, Beomgyu spotted the secretary, and went to her.

Only to be met with the sight of her shutting down the computer, and unplugging the cables.

Dreading the worst, Beomgyu nearly slammed both hands down on the counter, causing her to look up.

"What's going on?"

The secretary, whose name read Kang Minjeong, paused her chore, eyes softening when she saw the son of the CEOs she once worked for.

"You don't know?"

"Of course not, that's why I'm asking!" Beomgyu almost yelled.

Minjeong exhaled, facing him.

"Well, I guess I need to tell you the truth."

Innerly, Beomgyu braced himself...

"Tell me."

... but it wasn't anywhere near enough for what she said.

"The company went bankrupt. Your parents are shutting it down."

Beomgyu thought the world was going to crash down on him.

He simply couldn't believe the words spilling out of Minjeong's mouth.

"The company went bankrupt. Your parents are shutting it down."
