Lilith's POV

I sat down, hugging my knees, feeling completely out of place. "What am I even doing here?" I muttered. Amelia, all bubbly, plopped down next to me. "We're here to check out my past, duh!"

I jumped to my feet, ready to peace out, but she yanked me back down by the arm. "Oh, c'mon! You owe me this much after, you know, stealing my heart." She pulled me back down, and I flinched.

"Wait, WHAT?!" I gasped, my mind short-circuiting. Back when I was younger, my holy power was on some next-level stuff, so much that my weak heart couldn't deal with it.

Yeah, I had heart problems.

That's when I got shipped off to the temple and ended up doing part-time maiden duties. But my heart... Amelia's?! "No—NO WAY! How?!" I started spiraling.

"The temple legit handled your funeral—this has to be BS!" I clutched my head, realizing the temple totally played me. "This is all a lie!" I screamed at her.

Amelia just smirked and reached out, her hand hovering over my chest. "Why else do you think I've been stuck with you all this time?" she said, entertained by my breakdown.

I was left shook.

We sat in silence for a bit, and I finally managed to calm down. Off in the distance, baby Jubelian came into view, and right as Amelia placed a flower crown on her head, she burst into tears.

"Yeah, probably 'cause it's so ugly," I snarked, my expression deadpan. Amelia shot me a look, clearly offended.

"Oh, NO YOU DIDN'T—HEY!" she shouted, but I ignored her, eyes locked on the next scene.

Legis showed up, scooping Jubelian into his arms. "What happened?" he asked, all casual-like.

I squealed. "OH MY GOD, HE'S SO FREAKIN' HOT!!"

Amelia stared at me, totally unimpressed. "Seriously?"

"What? Look at him! He's like, young and everything," I said, trying to defend myself.

She chuckled. "Well, we were teenagers back then..."

In the background, Legis was busy calming Jubelian down, and the scene shifted to show a bunch of memories flying by.

Before long, it was nighttime, and Legis and Amelia were going at it—arguing, obviously. He was trying to get her and Jubelian to leave the kingdom to keep them safe from the emperor.

"You think I can just live without you?! Is that really all you think of me?!" Amelia yelled, landing a punch to his chest.

Legis grabbed her hands, practically begging. "Amel, please, it's the only way!"

"No!! I'm nothing without you!!" she screamed, tears and all.

I couldn't take it. Legis leaned in, kissed her, and I lost it. "NOOO! NOOOOooooooo!! I can't watch Legis kissing anyone but me!!" I shrieked, throwing my hands over my eyes.

Amelia's ghost just sighed. "It was a different time, okay..."

"But still! I can't deal with this!" I pouted, peeking through my fingers like a total drama queen.

So, Amelia, being the chill ghost she is, just fast-forwarded the drama, and boom, we're right at the part where Legis totally lost it and was making a beeline for killing her.

She convinced Jubelian that her dad was basically a monster, telling her, "Whatever you do, don't listen to him!" So, Jubelian freaks out, locks herself in a wardrobe, and now we're left to watch the chaos unfold.
