BECCA kept her attention on the floor, she somehow kept zoning out over and over again, she couldn't help it, nothing seemed to get rid of that same feeling she had a few days back. Roger glanced over at her, noticing her usual magnetic eyes were now simply empty. "Bex?" Roger called out, tapping her shoulder to gain her attention. "Earth to Bex!" he waved his hand infront of her dilated eyes, the darkness of her pupils covering the sunshine in her eyes.
Becca glanced up at him, a warm smile naturally forming on her face. "Sorry, I uh...I don't know what's got into me." she admits, leaning her head back and sighing. "All this stuff with Bradley, and then Carly's death..."
"It's set you off?" Roger replies, sighing deeply. "are you sure you should be working, it wasn't that long since he...you know" Roger suddenly questions, getting up and sitting down next to her. "it's not even been a month, Bex."
"I know, but work helps me keep my mind off things" she admits, rubbing her hands together. "and it makes me feel closer to him..." she tilts her head back onto the window and takes a deep breath.
"You okay?" Smithy asks her, standing infront of her. "wanna take a walk or something?" he adds on, placing a hand on her shoulder.
Bex moves her head up again as she took a deep breath, the blonde nods slowly and stands up, wiping her hands on her pants. "Fine." she murmured, walking out of the mobile unit, Smithy following.
"Before Bradley died, he told me to look after you...and that's exactly what I'm doing." Smithy admitted as they began to walk through the estate, the sound of music and shouting blaring from every corner. "I'm not gonna just abandon you now that he's dead, Bex."
Becca turns her head, staring at him with a small smile. "Thanks." she murmurs, her voice breaking slightly. She placed her hands in her pockets and continued to walk, both her and Dale's feet in sync with each other.
The two of them stop at an overpass, which seemed to overlook the small estate where a teenage girl was killed just a few days ago. "Do you think they'll ever know who or what killed Bradley?" she suddenly asks, turning her attention to Smithy.
"They're still investigating it, Bex...I don't even know if he will get justice." he stammers, his eyes widening slightly. "I'll never understand why someone would kill him, it's all just so unfair..." he admits, placing his hands inside of his vest. "I wish I managed to get there in time to stop it, I still blame myself."
"Hey, it wasn't your fault." she takes a deep breath and grabs his hands. "None of us could have saved him, do you understand me?" she says, her eyes softening. "What happened to Bradley could have happened to anyone else..."
